"As for you, my sonSolomon,knowthe Godof your father,and serveHim with a wholeheartand a willingmind;for the LORDsearchesallhearts,and understandseveryintentof the thoughts.Ifyou seekHim, He will let you findHim; but ifyou forsakeHim, He will rejectyou forever.
And behold,the LORDstoodaboveit and said,"I am the LORD,the Godof your fatherAbrahamand the Godof Isaac;the landon whichyou lie,I will giveit to you and to your descendants.
Then the LORDsawthat the wickednessof manwas greaton the earth,and that everyintentof the thoughtsof his heartwas onlyevilcontinually.
The LORDsmelledthe soothingaroma;and the LORDsaidto Himself,"I will neveragaincursethe groundon accountof man,for the intentof man'sheartis evilfrom his youth;and I will neveragaindestroyeverylivingthing,as I have done.
Then Solomonsaid,"You have showngreatlovingkindnessto Your servantDavidmy father,accordingas he walkedbeforeYou in truthand righteousnessand uprightnessof hearttowardYou; and You have reservedfor him thisgreatlovingkindness,that You have givenhim a sonto siton his throne,as [it is] thisday.
then hearin heavenYour dwellingplace,and forgiveand actand renderto eachaccording to allhis ways,whoseheartYou know,for You aloneknowthe heartsof allthe sonsof men,
hearin heavenYour dwellingplace,and doaccording to allfor whichthe foreignercallsto You, in orderthat allthe peoplesof the earthmay knowYour name,to fearYou, as [do] Your peopleIsrael,and that they may knowthat thishousewhichI have builtis calledby Your name.
"Let your hearttherefore be whollydevotedto the LORDour God,to walkin His statutesand to keepHis commandments,as at thisday."
"Remembernow,OLORD,I beseechYou, howI have walkedbeforeYou in truthand with a wholeheartand have donewhatis goodin Your sight."And Hezekiahweptbitterly.
So he forsookthe LORD,the Godof his fathers,and did not walkin the wayof the LORD.
He didrightin the sightof the LORDand walkedin allthe wayof his fatherDavid,nordid he turnasideto the rightor to the left.
"Nowsetyour heartand your soulto seekthe LORDyour God;arise,therefore, and buildthe sanctuaryof the LORDGod,so that you may bringthe arkof the covenantof the LORDand the holyvesselsof Godinto the housethat is to be builtfor the nameof the LORD."
"So now,in the sightof allIsrael,the assemblyof the LORD,and in the hearingof our God,observeand seekafterallthe commandmentsof the LORDyour Godsothat you may possessthe goodlandand bequeath[it] to your sonsafteryou forever.
Then the peoplerejoicedbecausethey had offeredso willingly,for they madetheir offeringto the LORDwith a wholeheart,and KingDavidalsorejoicedgreatly.
Then Shemaiahthe prophetcameto Rehoboamand the princesof Judahwhohad gatheredat Jerusalembecauseof Shishak,and he saidto them, "Thussaysthe LORD,You have forsakenMe, so I alsohave forsakenyou to Shishak.'"
and he wentout to meetAsaand saidto him, "Listento me, Asa,and allJudahand Benjamin:the LORDis with you when you are with Him. And ifyou seekHim, He will let you findHim; but ifyou forsakeHim, He will forsakeyou.
then hearfrom heavenYour dwellingplace,and forgive,and renderto eachaccording to allhis ways,whoseheartYou knowfor You aloneknowthe heartsof the sonsof men,
For I was ashamedto requestfrom the kingtroopsand horsemento protectus from the enemyon the way,becausewe had saidto the king,"The handof our Godis favorablydisposedto allthose who seekHim, but His powerand His angerare againstallthose who forsakeHim."
I will giveheedto the blamelessway.Whenwill You cometo me? I will walkwithinmy housein the integrityof my heart.
You knowwhen I sitdownand when I riseup; You understandmy thoughtfrom afar.
You have triedmy heart;You have visited[me] by night;You have testedme and You findnothing;I have purposedthat my mouthwill not transgress.
The LORDis my rockand my fortressand my deliverer,My God,my rock,in whom I takerefuge;My shieldand the hornof my salvation,my stronghold.
My shieldis with God,Who savesthe uprightin heart.
Olet the evilof the wickedcometo an end,but establishthe righteous;For the righteousGodtriesthe heartsand minds.
"He will cryto Me, 'You are my Father,My God,and the rockof my salvation.'
But You have castoffand rejected,You have beenfullof wrathagainstYour anointed.
And those who knowYour namewill puttheir trustin You, For You, O LORD,have not forsakenthose who seekYou.
"The LORDis my strengthand song,And He has becomemy salvation;Thisis my God,and I will praiseHim; My father'sGod,and I will extolHim.
"Goand gatherthe eldersof Israeltogether and sayto them, 'The LORD,the Godof your fathers,the Godof Abraham,Isaacand Jacob,has appearedto me, saying,"I amindeedconcernedabout you and what has been doneto you in Egypt.
The refiningpotis for silverand the furnacefor gold,But the LORDtestshearts.
In allyour waysacknowledgeHim, And He will makeyour pathsstraight.
Then he taughtme and saidto me, "Let your heartholdfastmy words;Keepmy commandmentsand live;
But transgressorsand sinnerswill be crushedtogether,And those who forsakethe LORDwill cometo an end.
and said,"Remembernow,OLORD,I beseechYou, howI have walkedbeforeYou in truthand with a wholeheart,and have donewhatis goodin Your sight."And Hezekiahweptbitterly.
"I have not spokenin secret,In somedarkland;I did not sayto the offspringof Jacob,SeekMe in a wasteplace;I, the LORD,speakrighteousness,Declaringthingsthat are upright.
But, O LORDof hosts,who judgesrighteously,Who triesthe feelingsand the heart,Let me seeYour vengeanceon them, For to You have I committedmy cause.
"I, the LORD,searchthe heart,I testthe mind,Even to giveto eachmanaccording to his ways,According to the resultsof his deeds.
Yet, O LORDof hosts,You who testthe righteous,Who seethe mindand the heart;Let me seeYour vengeanceon them; For to You I have setforthmy cause.
"He pledthe causeof the afflictedand needy;Thenit was well.Is not that what it means to knowMe?" Declaresthe LORD.
I will givethem a heartto knowMe, for I am the LORD;and they will be My people,and I will be their God,for they will returnto Me with their wholeheart.
You will seekMe and find[Me] whenyou searchfor Me with allyour heart.
I will be foundby you,' declaresthe LORD,and I will restoreyour fortunesand will gatheryou from allthe nationsand from allthe placeswhereI have drivenyou,' declaresthe LORD,and I will bringyou backto the placefrom whereI sentyou into exile.'
"They will not teachagain,eachmanhis neighborand eachmanhis brother,saying,'Knowthe LORD,'for they will allknowMe, from the leastof them to the greatestof them," declaresthe LORD,"for I will forgivetheir iniquity,and their sinI will remembernomore."
but let him who boastsboastof this,that he understandsand knowsMe, that I am the LORDwho exerciseslovingkindness,justiceand righteousnesson earth;for I delightin thesethings,"declaresthe LORD.
Then the Spiritof the LORDfellupon me, and He saidto me, "Say,'Thussaysthe LORD,"Soyou think,houseof Israel,for I knowyour thoughts.
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"It will comeabout on that day,that thoughtswill comeinto your mindand you will devisean evilplan,
Listento the wordof the LORD,O sonsof Israel,For the LORDhas a caseagainstthe inhabitantsof the land,Becausethereis nofaithfulnessor kindnessOr knowledgeof Godin the land.
My peopleare destroyedfor lackof knowledge.Becauseyou have rejectedknowledge,I also will rejectyou from being My priest.Since you have forgottenthe lawof your God,I alsowill forgetyour children.
JesussawNathanaelcomingto Him, and saidof him, "Behold,an Israeliteindeed,in whomthereis nodeceit!"
"Thisis eternallife,that they may knowYou, the onlytrue God,and JesusChristwhomYou have sent.
and becauseHe did not needanyoneto testifyconcerningman,for He Himselfknewwhatwas in man.
He saidto him the thirdtime,"Simon,[son] of John,do you loveMe?" Peterwas grievedbecauseHe saidto him the third time,"Do you loveMe?" And he saidto Him, "Lord,You knowall things;You knowthat I loveYou." Jesussaidto him, "TendMy sheep.
"Godis spirit,and thosewho worshipHim mustworshipin spiritand truth."
and you have not come to knowHim, but I knowHim; and ifI saythat I do not knowHim, I will be a liarlikeyou, but I do knowHim and keepHis word.
And they prayedand said,"You, Lord,who know the heartsof all men,showwhichoneof thesetwoYou have chosen
"For while I was passing throughand examiningthe objects of your worship,I alsofoundan altarwith thisinscription,'TO AN UNKNOWNGOD.'Thereforewhatyou worshipin ignorance,thisI proclaimto you.
"Thereforehaving overlookedthe timesof ignorance,Godis nowdeclaringto menthat all[people] everywhereshould repent,
Become sober-mindedas you ought,and stopsinning;for somehaveno knowledgeof God.I speak[this] to your shame.
For God,who said,"Lightshall shineout of darkness,"is the One whohas shonein our heartsto give the Lightof the knowledgeof the gloryof Godin the faceof Christ.
For ifthe readinessis present,it is acceptableaccordingto what [a person] has,not accordingto what he does not have.
Each one[must do] justas he has purposedin his heart,not grudginglyorundercompulsion,for Godlovesa cheerfulgiver.
"Now,Israel,whatdoes the LORDyour Godrequirefrom you, but to fearthe LORDyour God,to walkin allHis waysand loveHim, and to servethe LORDyour Godwith allyour heartand with allyour soul,
"Then it shall comeabout, whenmanyevilsand troubleshave comeupon them, that thissongwill testifybeforethem as a witness(for it shall not be forgottenfrom the lipsof their descendants);for I knowtheir intentwhichthey are developingtoday,beforeI have broughtthem into the landwhichI swore."
"To you it was shownthat you might knowthat the LORD,He is God;thereis nootherbesidesHim.
Therefore,since we receivea kingdomwhich cannot be shaken,let us showgratitude,by whichwe may offerto Godan acceptableservicewith reverenceand awe;
And there is nocreaturehiddenfrom His sight,but all thingsare openand laid bareto the eyesof Him with whomwe have to do.
shepherdthe flockof Godamongyou, exercising oversightnot under compulsion,but voluntarily,accordingto [the will of] God;and not for sordid gain,but with eagerness;
And I will killher childrenwith pestilence,and allthe churcheswill knowthat I amHe who searchesthe mindsand hearts;and I will giveto each oneof you accordingto your deeds.
Samuelsaidto the people,"Do not fear.You have committedallthisevil,yetdo not turnasidefrom followingthe LORD,but servethe LORDwith allyour heart.
But the LORDsaidto Samuel,"Do not lookat his appearanceor at the heightof his stature,becauseI have rejectedhim; for God[sees] not as mansees,for manlooksat the outwardappearance,but the LORDlooksat the heart."
