And the sons of Yawan: Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Doḏanim.


For the sovereign had ships of Tarshish at sea with the fleet of Ḥiram. Once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and baboons.


Yehoshaphat made Tarshish ships to go to Ophir for gold. However, they did not go, for the ships were wrecked at Etsyon Geḇer.


And Ḥiram sovereign of Tsor sent his servants to Shelomoh, because he heard that they had anointed him sovereign in place of his father, for Ḥiram had always loved Dawiḏ.


For the sovereign’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Ḥuram. Once in three years the ships of Tarshish came, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, apes, and baboons.


With an east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.


For the cry has gone all around the borders of Mo’aḇ, its wailing to Eḡlayim and its wailing to Be’ĕr Ělim.


and against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the desirable craft.


And He said, “Never again shall you exult, O you oppressed maiden daughter of Tsiḏon. Arise, pass over to Kittim, even there you shall find no rest.”


Pass over to Tarshish; wail, you inhabitants of the coastland!


The deserted city shall be broken down, every house shall be shut, no one enters.


“Because the coastlands wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the Name of יהוה your Elohim, and to the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl, because He has adorned you.


“For, pass beyond the isles of Kittim and see, and send to Qĕḏar and observe well, and see if there has been any like this.


For thus said יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl to me, “Take this wine cup of wrath from My hand, and make all the nations, to whom I send you, drink it.


and all the sovereigns of Tsor, and all the sovereigns of Tsiḏon, and the sovereigns of the coastlands which are beyond the sea;


because of the day that shall come to ravage all the Philistines, to cut off from Tsor and Tsiḏon every helper that survives. For יהוה is ravaging the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Kaphtor.


And it came to be in the eleventh year, on the first of the new moon, the word of יהוה came to me, saying,


“Son of man, because Tsor has spoken against Yerushalayim, ‘Aha! She, the gateway of the peoples, has been broken, she has been turned over to me. Let me be filled, she has been ruined.’


and they shall raise their voice and cry bitterly over you, and cast dust on their heads, rolling themselves in ashes.


“From the oaks of Bashan they made your oars. They made your deck with ivory from the coasts of Kittim.


“For ships from Kittim shall come against him, and he shall lose heart, and shall return in rage against the set-apart covenant, and shall act, and shall return and consider those who forsake the set-apart covenant.


But Yonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of יהוה, and went down to Yapho, and found a ship going to Tarshish. And he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of יהוה.


And ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, and they shall afflict Asshur and afflict Ěḇer, and so shall Amalĕq, and he also perishes.”


“Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bĕyth Tsaiḏa! For if the miracles which were done in you had been done in Tsor and Tsiḏon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.


And the border turned to Ramah and to the strong city Tsor, and the border turned to Ḥosah, and ended at the sea, from the coast to Aḵziḇ.
