Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth.


And I was as a meek lamb that is carried to be a victim: and I knew not that they had devised counsels against me, saying: Let us put wood on his bread and cut him off from the land of the living, and let his name be remembered no more.


But if you will not hearken to me, to sanctify the sabbath day, and not to carry burdens, and not to bring them in by the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day: I will kindle a fire in the gates thereof. And it shall devour the houses of Jerusalem: and it shall not be quenched.


But Peter sat without in the court: and there came to him a servant maid, saying: Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilean.


Then the soldiers of the governor taking Jesus into the hall, gathered together unto him the whole band;


And Peter followed him from afar off, even into the court of the high priest; and he sat with the servants at the fire, and warmed himself.


Now when Peter was in the court below, there cometh one of the maidservants of the high priest.


And the soldiers led him away into the court of the palace, and they called together the whole band:


And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were sitting about it, Peter was in the midst of them.


Under the high priests Annas and Caiphas; the word of the Lord was made unto John, the son of Zachary, in the desert.


And Annas sent him bound to Caiphas the high priest.


Then they led Jesus from Caiphas to the governor's hall. And it was morning; and they went not into the hall, that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the pasch.
