² H7760And put[H8799] H1375my cupH3701, the silverH1375cupH572, in the sack'sH6310mouthH6996of the youngestH7668, and his cornH3701moneyH6213. And he did[H8799] H1697according to the wordH3130that JosephH1696had spoken[H8765] .

³ H1242As soon as the morningH215was light[H8804] H582, the menH7971were sent away[H8795] H2543, they and their asses.

⁴ H3318And when they were gone out[H8804] H5892of the cityH7368, and not yet far off[H8689] H3130, JosephH559said[H8804] H1004unto his stewardH6965, Up[H8798] H7291, follow[H8798] H310afterH582the menH5381; and when thou dost overtake[H8689] H559them, say[H8804] H7999unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded[H8765] H7451evilH2896for good?

⁵ H113Is not this it in which my lordH8354drinketh[H8799] H5172, and whereby indeed[H8763] H5172he divineth[H8762] H7489? ye have done evil[H8689] H6213in so doing[H8804] .

⁶ H5381And he overtook[H8686] H1696them, and he spake[H8762] H428unto them these sameH1697words.

⁷ H559And they said[H8799] H1696unto him, Wherefore saith[H8762] H113my lordH1697these wordsH2486? God forbidH5650that thy servantsH6213should do[H8800] H1697according to this thing:

⁸ H3701Behold, the moneyH4672, which we found[H8804] H572in our sacksH6310' mouthsH7725, we brought again[H8689] H776unto thee out of the landH3667of CanaanH1589: how then should we steal[H8799] H113out of thy lord'sH1004houseH3701silverH2091or gold?

⁹ H5650With whomsoever of thy servantsH4672it be found[H8735] H4191, both let him die[H8804] H113, and we also will be my lord'sH5650bondmen.

¹⁰ H559And he said[H8799] H1697, Now also let it be according unto your wordsH3651:H4672he with whom it is found[H8735] H5650shall be my servantH5355; and ye shall be blameless.

¹¹ H4116Then they speedily[H8762] H3381took down[H8686] H376every manH572his sackH776to the groundH6605, and opened[H8799] H376every manH572his sack.

¹⁵ H3130And JosephH559said[H8799] H4639unto them, What deedH6213is this that ye have done[H8804] H3045? wot ye[H8804] H376not that such a manH5172as I can certainly[H8763] H5172divine[H8762] ?

¹⁶ H3063And JudahH559said[H8799] H559, What shall we say[H8799] H113unto my lordH1696? what shall we speak[H8762] H6663? or how shall we clear ourselves[H8691] H430? GodH4672hath found out[H8804] H5771the iniquityH5650of thy servantsH113: behold, we are my lord'sH5650servantsH1571, both we, and he alsoH834with whomH3027 H1375the cupH4672is found[H8738] .

¹⁷ H559And he said[H8799] H2486, God forbidH6213that I should do[H8800] H2063soH376: but the manH3027in whose handH1375the cupH4672is found[H8738] H5650, he shall be my servantH5927; and as for you, get you up[H8798] H7965in peaceH1unto your father.

¹⁸ H3063Then JudahH5066came near[H8799] H559unto him, and said[H8799] H994, OhH113my lordH5650, let thy servantH1696, I pray thee, speak[H8762] H1697a wordH113in my lord'sH241earsH639, and let not thine angerH2734burn[H8799] H5650against thy servantH6547: for thou art even as Pharaoh.

¹⁹ H113My lordH7592asked[H8804] H5650his servantsH559, saying[H8800] H3426, HaveH1ye a fatherH251, or a brother?

²⁰ H559And we said[H8799] H113unto my lordH3426, We haveH1a fatherH2205, an old manH3206, and a childH2208of his old ageH6996, a little oneH251; and his brotherH4191is dead[H8804] H3498, and he alone is left[H8735] H517of his motherH1, and his fatherH157loveth[H8804]  him.

²¹ H559And thou saidst[H8799] H5650unto thy servantsH3381, Bring him down[H8685] H7760unto me, that I may set[H8799] H5869mine eyes upon him.

²² H559And we said[H8799] H113unto my lordH5288, The ladH3201cannot[H8799] H5800leave[H8800] H1his fatherH5800: for if he should leave[H8804] H1his fatherH4191, his father would die[H8804] .

²³ H559And thou saidst[H8799] H5650unto thy servantsH3808, ExceptH6996your youngestH251brotherH3381come down[H8799] H7200with you, ye shall seeH3254 H6440my faceH7200no more[H8800] H3254 [H8686] .

²⁴ H5927And it came to pass when we came up[H8804] H5650unto thy servantH1my fatherH5046, we told[H8686] H1697him the wordsH113of my lord.

²⁵ H1And our fatherH559said[H8799] H7725, Go again[H8798] H7666, and buy[H8798] H4592us a littleH400food.

²⁶ H559And we said[H8799] H3201, We cannot[H8799] H3381go down[H8800] H6996: if our youngestH251brotherH3426beH3381with us, then will we go down[H8804] H3201: for we may[H8799] H7200not see[H8800] H376the man'sH6440faceH369, exceptH6996our youngestH251brother be with us.

²⁷ H5650And thy servantH1my fatherH559said[H8799] H3045unto us, Ye know[H8804] H802that my wifeH3205bare[H8804] H8147me two sons :

²⁸ H259And the oneH3318went out[H8799] H559from me, and I said[H8799] H2963, Surely[H8800] H2963he is torn in pieces[H8776] H7200; and I saw him[H8804] H2008not since:

²⁹ H3947And if ye take[H8804] H5973this also fromH6440meH611, and mischiefH7136befall him[H8804] H3381, ye shall bring down[H8689] H7872my gray hairsH7451with sorrowH7585to the grave.

³⁰ H935Now therefore when I come[H8800] H5650to thy servantH1my fatherH5288, and the ladH5315be not with us; seeing that his lifeH7194is bound up[H8803] H5315in the lad's life;

³¹ H7200It shall come to pass, when he seeth[H8800] H5288that the ladH4191is not with us, that he will die[H8804] H5650: and thy servantsH3381shall bring down[H8689] H7872the gray hairsH5650of thy servantH1our fatherH3015with sorrowH7585to the grave.

³² H5650For thy servantH6148became surety[H8804] H5288for the ladH5973untoH1my fatherH559, saying[H8800] H935, If I bring[H8686] H2398him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame[H8804] H1to my fatherH3117for ever.

³³ H5650Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servantH3427abide[H8799] H5288instead of the ladH5650a bondmanH113to my lordH5288; and let the ladH5927go up[H8799] H251with his brethren.

³⁴ H349For howH5927shall I go up[H8799] H1to my fatherH5288, and the ladH7200be not with me? lest peradventure I see[H8799] H7451the evilH4672that shall come on[H8799] H1my father.
