Psalm 107 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Thank the Lord, because he is good!\par His love is forever!\par

² That is what every person that the Lord has saved should say.\par The Lord saved them from their enemy.\par

³ The Lord gathered his people together\par from many different countries.\par He brought them from east and west,\par north and south. {\cf2\super [565]} \par

⁴ Some of them wandered in the dry desert.\par They were looking for a place to live,\par but they could not find a city.\par

⁵ They were hungry and thirsty\par and growing weak.\par

⁶ Then they called to the Lord for help.\par And he saved them from their troubles.\par

⁷ God led those people straight to the city\par where they would live.\par

⁸ Thank the Lord for his love,\par and for the amazing things\par he does for people.\par

⁹ God satisfies the thirsty soul.\par God fills the hungry soul with good things.\par

¹⁰ Some of God’s people were prisoners,\par locked behind bars in dark, dark prisons.\par

¹¹ Why? Because those people fought against\par the things God said.\par They refused to listen to the advice\par from God Most-High.\par

¹² God made life hard for those people\par because of the things they did.\par They stumbled and fell,\par and there was no person to help them.\par

¹³ Those people were in trouble,\par so they called to the Lord for help.\par And he saved them from their troubles.\par

¹⁴ God took them out of their dark prisons.\par God broke the ropes they were tied with.\par

¹⁵ Thank the Lord for his love.\par and for the amazing things\par he does for people.\par

¹⁶ \{God helps us defeat our enemies.\}\par God can break down their bronze gates.\par God can shatter the iron bars on their gates.\par

¹⁷ Some people let their sins and guilt\par change them into foolish people.\par

¹⁸ Those people refused to eat,\par and they almost died.\par

¹⁹ They were in trouble,\par so they called to the Lord for help.\par And he saved them from their troubles.\par

²⁰ God gave the command and healed them.\par So those people were saved from the grave.\par

²¹ Thank the Lord for his love\par and for the amazing things\par he does for people.\par

²² Offer sacrifices {\cf2\super [566]} to the Lord\par to thank him for all he did.\par Gladly tell what the Lord has done.\par

²³ Some people sailed in boats across the sea.\par Their job carried them across the great sea.\par

²⁴ Those people saw what the Lord can do.\par They saw the amazing things he did at sea.\par

²⁵ God gave the command,\par and a strong wind began to blow.\par The waves became higher and higher.\par

²⁶ The waves lifted them high in the sky\par and dropped them into the deep sea.\par The storm was so dangerous\par the men lost their courage.\par

²⁷ They were stumbling\par and falling like drunk men.\par Their skill as sailors was useless.\par

²⁸ They were in trouble,\par so they called to the Lord for help.\par And he saved them from their troubles.\par

²⁹ God stopped the storm.\par He calmed the waves.\par

³⁰ The sailors were happy\par that the sea was calm.\par And God led them safely\par to the place they wanted to go.\par

³¹ Thank the Lord for his love,\par and for the amazing things\par he does for people.\par

³² Praise God in the great assembly.\par Praise him when the older leaders meet together.\par

³³ God changed rivers into a desert.\par God stopped springs from flowing.\par

³⁴ God changed the fertile land\par and it became worthless salty land.\par Why? Because of the bad people\par who were living in that place.\par

³⁵ God changed the desert\par and it became a land with pools of water.\par God caused springs of water to flow\par from dry ground.\par

³⁶ God led hungry people to that good land.\par And they built a city to live in.\par

³⁷ Those people planted seeds in their fields.\par They planted grapes in the field.\par And they had a good harvest.\par

³⁸ God blessed those people.\par Their families grew.\par They had many, many animals.\par

³⁹ Because of disaster and troubles,\par their families were small and weak.\par

⁴⁰ God shamed and embarrassed their leaders.\par God let them wander through the desert\par where there are no roads.\par

⁴¹ But then God rescued those poor people\par from their misery.\par And now their families are large,\par like flocks of sheep.\par

⁴² Good people see this,\par and they are happy.\par But wicked people see this,\par and they don’t know what to say.\par

⁴³ If a person is wise,\par he will remember these things.\par Then he will begin to understand\par what God’s love really is.\par
