Job 6 - Easy To Read Version3 you would understand my sadness.\par My sadness would be heavier\par than all the sand of the seas!\par That is why my words seem foolish.\par 4 God All-Powerful’s arrows are in me.\par My spirit feels the poison\par from those arrows!\par God’s terrible weapons are lined up\par against me.\par 5 \{Your words are easy to say\par when nothing bad has happened.\}\par Even a wild donkey doesn’t complain\par when it has grass to eat.\par And a cow doesn’t complain\par when it has its food.\par 6 Food without salt\par doesn’t taste good.\par And the white of an egg\par doesn’t have any taste.\par 7 I refuse to touch it;\par that kind of food makes me sick!\par \{And that is what your words\par are like to me now.\}\par 8 “I wish I could have what I ask for.\par I wish God would give me what I want.\par 9 I wish God would crush me,\par just go ahead and kill me!\par 10 And if he does kill me,\par I will be comforted about one thing,\par I will be happy about one thing:\par Even through all this pain,\par I never refused to obey\par the commands of the Holy One.\par 11 “My strength is gone,\par so I have no hope to go on living.\par I don’t know what will happen to me,\par so I have no reason to be patient.\par 12 I am not strong like a rock.\par My body is not made from bronze.\par 13 I don’t have power to help myself now.\par Why? Because success has been taken away from me.\par 14 “A person’s friends should be kind\par to him if he has troubles.\par A person should be loyal to his friend,\par even if that friend turned away from \{God\} All-Powerful.\par 15 But you, my brothers, have not been loyal.\par I can’t depend on you.\par You are like streams that flow sometimes\par and don’t flow at other times.\par You are like streams that overflow\par 16 when they are choked with ice\par and melting snow.\par 17 And when the weather is hot and dry,\par the water stops flowing,\par and the streams are gone.\par 18 Traders follow the twists and turns\par out into the desert\par and they disappear.\par 19 Traders from Tema look for \{water\}.\par Travelers from Sheba look hopefully.\par 20 They were sure they would find water\par but they were disappointed.\par 21 Now, you are like those streams.\par You see my troubles and are afraid.\par 22 Did I ask for your help? No!\par But you freely gave me your advice!\par 23 Did I say to you,\par ‘Save me from the enemy!\par Save me from cruel people!’\par 24 “So now, teach me,\par and I will be quiet.\par Show me what I have done wrong.\par 25 Honest words are powerful.\par But your arguments prove nothing.\par 26 Do you plan to criticize me?\par Will you speak more tiring words?\par 27 You would even gamble to win things\par that belong to children without fathers.\par You would sell out your own friend.\par 28 But now, please study my face.\par I would not lie to you.\par 29 So now, change your mind.\par Don’t be unfair, think again.\par I have done nothing wrong.\par 30 I am not lying.\par And I know right from wrong.”\par |
