You always have someone\par to prove I am wrong.\par Your will show your anger at me\par again and again in many ways,\par as you send one army after another\par against me.\par


\{Job said,\} “We are all human beings. {\cf2\super [24]} Our life is short and full of trouble.


But man is born to have trouble,\par as sure as sparks fly up from a fire.\par


Man is like a slave who wants the\par cool shade after hard work on a hot day.\par Man is like a hired worker\par waiting for payday.\par


Lord, tell me, what will happen to me now?\par Tell me, how long will I live?\par Let me know how short my life really is.\par


No person has the power to keep his spirit from leaving. No person has the power to stop his death. During war, a soldier does not have the freedom to go any place he wants to go. In the same way, if a person does evil, that evil won’t allow him to be free.


And now the Lord says, “In three years (the way a hired helper counts time) all those people and the things they are proud of will be gone. There will be a few people left, but there will not be many.”


The Lord, my Master, told me those things would happen. The Lord said, “In one year, (the way a hired helper counts time) all Kedar’s {\cf2\super [211]} glory will be gone.
