King Hezekiah encouraged all the Levites that understood very well how to do the service of the Lord. The people celebrated the Festival for seven days and offered fellowship offerings. They gave thanks and praise to the Lord God of their ancestors. {\cf2\super [375]}


A person is very happy. {\cf2\super [195]} \par when his sins are forgiven.\par \{That person is very fortunate\}\par when his sins are erased. {\cf2\super [196]} \par


Lord, stop being angry.\par Don’t be mad.\par


There is a time to cry,\par and a time to laugh.\par There is a time to be sad,\par and a time to dance from joy.\par


At that time, you will say:\par “I praise you Lord!\par You have been angry at me.\par But don’t be angry with me now!\par Show your love to me.”\par


The Lord will take away your hard work, and he will comfort you. \{In the past,\} you were slaves. Men forced you to do very hard work. But the Lord will end this hard work for you.


How will Jacob’s guilt be forgiven? What will happen so his sins can be taken away? \{These things will happen\}: The rocks of the altar will be crushed to dust; the statues {\cf2\super [251]} and altars {\cf2\super [252]} for worshiping false gods will all be destroyed.


No person living there will say, “I am sick.” The people living there are people whose sins are forgiven.


People are afraid and confused. Say to those people, “Be strong! Don’t be afraid!” Look, your God will come and punish your enemies. He will come and give you your reward. The Lord will save you.


“I, I am the One who wipes away all your sins. I do this to please myself. I will not remember your sins.


Your sins were like a big cloud.\par But I wiped away those sins.\par Your sins are gone,\par like a cloud that disappeared into thin air.\par I rescued and protected you,\par so come back to me!”\par


But the Lord says,\par “The prisoners will escape.\par Someone will take those prisoners\par away from the strong soldier.\par \{How will this happen?\}\par I will fight your fights.\par I will save your children.\par


Wake up! Wake up!\par Jerusalem, get up!\par The Lord was very angry at you.\par So you were punished.\par \{This punishment was like\} a cup of poison you had to drink.\par And you drank it.\par


But he was given pain to suffer for the wrong things we did. He was crushed for our guilt. A debt we owed—our punishment—was given to him. We were healed (forgiven) because of his pain.


But \{even after he did this,\} all of us wandered away like sheep. We all went our own way. \{We did this after\} the Lord \{freed us from our guilt and\} put all our guilt on him.


None of my armies will fight against you.\par And if any army tries to attack you,\par you will defeat that army.\par


“People will make weapons to fight against you, but those weapons will not defeat you. Some people will say things against you. But every person that speaks against you will be shown to be wrong.”


Evil people should stop living evil lives.\par They should stop thinking bad thoughts.\par They should come to the Lord again.\par Then the Lord will comfort them.\par Those people should come to the Lord\par because our God forgives.\par


The Seraph angel touched my mouth with the hot coal. Then the angel said, “Look! Because this hot coal touched your lips the wrong things you have done are gone from you. Your sins are now erased.”


“In the past other people shamed you and said bad things to you. You were shamed much more than any other people. So in your land you will get two times more than other people. You will get happiness that continues forever.


I will comfort you like a mother\par comforts her child.\par And you will be in Jerusalem when\par I comfort you!”\par


I will pay the people of Judah back for the bad things they did—I will punish them two times for every sin. I will do this because they have made my land ‘dirty.’ They made my land ‘dirty’ with their terrible idols. I hate those idols. But they have filled my country with their idols.”


People are hurting me.\par Make those people ashamed.\par But don’t disappoint me.\par Let those people be scared.\par But don’t scare me.\par Bring the terrible day of disaster\par to my enemies.\par Break them.\par And break them again.\par


I say this because I know the plans that I have for you.” This message is from the Lord. “I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future.


The Lord got even for us.\par Come, let’s tell about that in Zion. {\cf2\super [417]} \par Let us tell about the things\par that the Lord our God has done.\par


Your punishment is complete, Zion. {\cf2\super [32]} \par You will not go into captivity again.\par But the Lord will punish your sins,\par people of Edom.\par He will uncover your sins.\par


Then I will stop being angry and jealous. I will calm down. I won’t be angry any more.


Some of the wise people will stumble \{and make mistakes\}. But the persecution must come. Why? So that they can be made stronger, purer, and without faults until the time of the end. Then, at the right time, that time of the end will come.’”


“‘But you, Daniel, keep this message a secret. You must close the book. You must keep this secret until the time of the end. Many people will go here and there looking for true knowledge. And the true knowledge will increase.’


“He answered, ‘Go on about your life Daniel. The message is hidden. It will be a secret until the time of the end.


“God said those things would happen to us and our leaders—and he made them happen. He made terrible things happen to us. No other city suffered the way Jerusalem suffered.


During the first year that Darius was king, I, Daniel, was reading some books. In the books, I saw that the Lord told Jeremiah how many years would pass before Jerusalem would be built again. The Lord said 70 years would pass.


“So, I (the Lord) will say romantic words to her. I will lead her into the desert and speak tender words.


This message is about a special time in the future. This message is about the end, and it will come true! \{It may seem like that time will never come.\} But be patient and wait for it. That time will come. It will not be late.


Why? Because the Lord stopped\par your punishment!\par He destroyed your enemies’ strong towers!\par King of Israel, the Lord is with you.\par You don’t need to worry\par about anything bad happening.\par


Then the Lord answered the angel that was talking with me. The Lord spoke good, comforting words.


And I am very angry at the nations\par that feel so safe.\par I was a little angry,\par and I used those nations\par to punish my people.\par But those nations caused too much damage.”\par


Prisoners, go home!\par Now you have something to hope for.\par I am telling you now,\par I am coming back to you!\par


Jesus said to them, “The Father is the only One who has the authority to decide dates and times. You cannot know these things.


But when the right time came, God sent his Son. God’s Son was born from a woman. God’s Son lived under the law. {\cf2\super [48]}


Give that city the same as she gave to others.\par Pay her back twice as much as she did.\par Prepare wine for her that is twice as strong as the wine she prepared for others.\par
