One day, Jacob heard Laban’s sons talking. They said, “Jacob has taken everything that our father owned. Jacob has become rich—and he has taken all this wealth from our father.”


Haman started bragging about how rich he was. He was bragging to his friends about his many sons, and about all the ways the king had honored him. And he was bragging about how the king had promoted him higher than all the other leaders.


So God, stop watching us.\par Leave us alone.\par Let us enjoy our hard life\par until our time is finished.\par


But Ephraim and Judah will attack the Philistines. {\cf2\super [136]} These two nations will be like birds flying down to catch a small animal. Together, they will take the riches from the people in the east. Ephraim and Judah will control Edom, Moab, {\cf2\super [137]} and the people in Ammon. {\cf2\super [138]}


My heart cries with sorrow for Moab.\par People are running for safety.\par They run far away to Zoar.\par They run to Eglath Shelishiyah.\par The people are crying as they go up\par the mountain road to Luhith.\par The people are crying very loudly\par as they walk on the road to Horonaim.\par


The Lord said these things about Moab many times.


At that time, Jacob’s (Israel’s) wealth\par will all be gone.\par Jacob will be like a man who was sick\par and became weak and thin.\par


The Lord, my Master, told me those things would happen. The Lord said, “In one year, (the way a hired helper counts time) all Kedar’s {\cf2\super [211]} glory will be gone.


It was the Lord All-Powerful.\par He decided to make them not important.\par


The Lord’s power is on this mountain.\par And Moab {\cf2\super [239]} will be defeated.\par The Lord will trample (walk on) the enemy.\par It will be like walking on straw\par in a pile of waste.\par


The Lord will spread his arms\par like a person that is swimming.\par Then the Lord will gather\par all the things the people are proud of.\par The Lord will gather\par all the beautiful things they made.\par And he will throw those things away.\par


But before the child \{is old enough\}\par to learn about good and evil,\par the land of Ephraim (Israel) and Aram\par will be empty.\par


The nation of Moab will be destroyed.\par Why? Because they thought\par that they were more important\par than the Lord.”\par


The Lord says:\par “Wise men must not brag\par about their wisdom.\par Strong men must not brag\par about their strength.\par Rich men must not brag\par about their money.\par


You must be willing to share with him. You must lend that person whatever he needs.
