the earth was completely empty; nothing was on the earth. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit moved over [1] the water.


The skies will be dark. The sun, the moon, and the stars will not shine.


So, the “lion” roars loud like the waves of the sea. And the captured people look at the ground, and then there is only darkness. All light becomes dark in this thick cloud.


“Skies, be shocked at the things\par that have happened!\par Shake with great fear!”\par This message was from the Lord.\par


I (Jeremiah) will cry loud for the mountains.\par I will sing a funeral song\par for the empty fields.\par Why? Because the living things\par were taken away.\par No person travels there now.\par The sounds of cattle can’t be heard there.\par The birds have flown away\par and the animals are gone.\par


The Lord led and brought me\par into darkness, not light.\par


Before them, earth and sky shake.\par The sun and the moon become dark.\par And the stars stop shining.\par


The Lord also said these things:\par “At that time I will cause the sun\par to go down at noon.\par I will make the earth dark on a clear day.\par


“Soon after the trouble of those days, this will happen:


The whole world, earth and sky, will be destroyed, but the words I have said will never be destroyed!


Then I saw a large white throne. I saw the One who was sitting on the throne. Earth and sky ran away from him and disappeared.
