These lights will be in the sky to shine light on the earth.” And it happened.
I have never worshiped the bright sun,\par or the beautiful moon.\par
The morning stars sang together\par and the angels {\cf2\super [81]} shouted with joy\par when that was done!\par
Sun and moon, praise the Lord!\par Stars and lights in the sky, praise him!\par
Praise the Lord’s name.\par Why? Because God gave the command,\par and we were all created!\par
The sun starts at one end of the sky,\par and it runs all the way to the other end.\par Nothing can hide from its heat.\par
God, you control the day,\par and you control the night.\par You made the moon and the sun.\par
Lord, I look at the heavens\par you made with your hands.\par I see the moon and stars you created,\par \{and I wonder:\}\par
The skies will be dark. The sun, the moon, and the stars will not shine.
The Lord will rule as king\par on Mount Zion {\cf2\super [234]} in Jerusalem.\par His Glory {\cf2\super [235]} will be before the elders. {\cf2\super [236]} \par \{His Glory will be so bright that\}\par the moon will be embarrassed,\par the sun will be ashamed.\par
Look up to the skies.\par Who created all those stars?\par Who created all those ‘armies’\par \{in the sky\}?\par Who knows every star by name?\par \{The true God\} is very strong and powerful,\par so none of these stars is lost.”\par
I made the light,\par and I made darkness.\par I make peace,\par and I make troubles.\par I am the Lord—\par and I do all these things.\par
The Lord says:\par “The Lord makes the sun shine in the day.\par And the Lord makes the moon and the stars shine at night.\par The Lord stirs up the sea so that its waves\par crash on the shore.\par The Lord All-Powerful is his name.”\par
The sun and the moon lost their brightness.\par They stopped shining when they saw\par your bright flashes of lightning.\par That lightning was like spears and arrows\par shooting through the air.\par
At noon the whole country became dark. This darkness continued for three hours.
The sun has one kind of beauty, the moon has another kind of beauty, and the stars have another. And each star is different in its beauty.
And be careful when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon, and the stars—all the many things in the sky. Be careful that you are not tempted to worship and serve those things. The Lord your God lets the other people in the world do those things.
