Let’s go early to the vineyards; let’s see if the vine has budded, if the blossom has opened, if the pomegranates are in bloom. There I will give you my caresses.


On that day the Branch  of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious,  and the fruit of the land  will be the pride and glory  of Israel’s survivors.


All your people will be righteous; they will possess the land for ever; they are the branch I planted, the work of my   hands, so that I may be glorified.


to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the  Lord to glorify him.


Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard; they have trampled my plot of land. They have turned my desirable plot into a desolate wasteland.


I planted you, a choice vine from the very best seed. How then could you turn into a degenerate, foreign vine?


Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard,  , planted by the water; it was fruitful and full of branches because of abundant water.


Israel is a lush   vine; it yields fruit for itself. The more his fruit increased, the more he increased the altars. The better his land produced, the better they made the sacred pillars.


‘Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your colleagues sitting before you; indeed, these men are a sign that I am about to bring my servant, the Branch.


He replied, ‘Every plant that my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.


‘For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.


‘Listen   to another parable:   There was a landowner, who planted a vineyard, put a fence round it, dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower.   He leased it to tenant farmers and went away.


He  began to speak to them in parables: ‘A man planted a vineyard,   put a fence round it, dug out a pit for a winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went away.


And he told this parable:  ‘A man had a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard. He came looking for fruit on it and found none.


for the law was given through Moses;  grace and truth  came through Jesus Christ.


The true light  that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.  ,


Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes,   and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.


Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, Moses   didn’t give you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.


because my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink.


Now if some of the branches were broken off,  and you, though a wild olive branch, were grafted in among them  and have come to share in the rich root  of the cultivated olive tree,


For we are God’s co-workers.  You are God’s field, God’s building.


Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away  and the true light  is already shining.
