When its branches dry out, they will be broken off. Women will come and make fires with them, for they are not a people with understanding. Therefore their Maker  will not have compassion on them, and their Creator will not be gracious to them.


Though a tenth will remain in the land, it will be burned again. Like the terebinth or the oak that leaves a stump when felled, the holy seed  is the stump.


The Lord named you a flourishing olive tree, beautiful with well-formed fruit. He has set fire to it, and its branches are consumed  , with the sound of a mighty tumult.


The men were seized by great fear of the Lord,  and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows.


There are also two olive trees beside it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.’


Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit.


‘I am   the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.


Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes,   and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.


If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside   like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire,   and they are burned.


For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off,  as many as the Lord our God will call.’


For if you were cut off from your native wild olive tree and against nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these #– #the natural branches #– #be grafted into their own olive tree?


We are Jews by birth and not ‘Gentile sinners’,


The Gentiles are co-heirs, members of the same body, and partners in the promise  in Christ Jesus through the gospel.


a land of wheat, barley, vines, figs, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey;


And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he made you alive with him and forgave us all our trespasses.


These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord  of the earth.
