but Nadab and Abihu died when they presented unauthorised fire before the Lord.
When his division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God,
The Israelites travelled from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. Aaron died and was buried there, and Eleazar his son became priest in his place.
For the Lord your God has chosen him and his sons from all your tribes to stand and minister in his name from now on.
Out of all the tribes of Israel, I chose your house to be my priests, to offer sacrifices on my altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod in my presence. I also gave your forefather’s family all the Israelite food offerings.
