‘You are to make a pure gold medallion and engrave it, like the engraving of a seal:  Holy to the Lord.


I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar; I will also consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.


Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for 137 years.


You must distinguish  between the holy and the common,  and the clean and the unclean,


The Lord said to Aaron, ‘You, your sons, and your ancestral family  , will be responsible for iniquity against the sanctuary. You and your sons will be responsible for iniquity involving your priesthood.


The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, born to Levi in Egypt. She bore to Amram: Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.


The Amramite clan, the Izharite clan, the Hebronite clan, and the Uzzielite clan came from Kohath; these were the Kohathites.


it happened that he was chosen by lot,  according to the custom of the priesthood, to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense.


As they were worshipping  the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’

But when God, who from my mother’s womb set me apart and called  me by his grace, was pleased


‘At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi  to carry the ark of the Lord’s covenant, to stand before the Lord to serve him, and to pronounce blessings in his name, as it is today.


Then the priests, the sons of Levi, will come forward, for the Lord your God has chosen them to serve him and pronounce blessings in his name, and they are to give a ruling in  every dispute and case of assault.


No one takes this honour on himself; instead, a person is called by God, just as Aaron was.


Another angel, with a golden incense burner, came and stood at the altar. He was given a large amount of incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar in front of the throne.


Out of all the tribes of Israel, I chose your house  to be my priests, to offer sacrifices on my altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod in my presence.  I also gave your forefather’s family all the Israelite food offerings.
