I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.
Then the Lord said to me: Do not say, ‘I am only a youth,’ for you will go to everyone I send you to and speak whatever I tell you.
You will even be brought before governors and kings because of me, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.
You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you.
As they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’
After greeting them, he reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
And he said, “The God of our ancestors has appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear the words from his mouth,
‘He said to me, “Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.” ’
Agrippa said to Festus, ‘I would like to hear the man myself.’ ‘Tomorrow you will hear him,’ he replied.
Agrippa said to Paul, ‘You have permission to speak for yourself.’ Then Paul stretched out his hand and began his defence:
Agrippa said to Festus, ‘This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.’
and said, “Don’t be afraid, Paul. It is necessary for you to appear before Caesar. And indeed, God has graciously given you all those who are sailing with you.”
After three days he called together the leaders of the Jews. When they had gathered he said to them, ‘Brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
Therefore, let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.’

These will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those with him are called, chosen, and faithful.’
