I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.


After these events, the word of the Lord came  to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid,  Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.


So it was, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham and brought Lot out of the middle of the upheaval when he demolished the cities where Lot had lived.


But Laban said to him, ‘If I have found favour with you, stay. I have learned by divination that the Lord has blessed me because of you.’


The warden did not bother with anything under Joseph’s authority,  because the Lord was with him, and the Lord made everything that he did successful.


From the time that he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house because of Joseph.  The Lord’s blessing was on all that he owned, in his house and in his fields.


God said, ‘I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.


Then Elijah said to her, ‘Don’t be afraid; go and do as you have said. But first make me a small loaf from it and bring it out to me. Afterwards, you may make some for yourself and your son,


Elisha said, ‘Don’t be afraid,  for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.’


Your wickedness affects a person like yourself, and your righteousness, a son of man.


You came near whenever I called you; you said, ‘Do not be afraid.’


Therefore Daniel went to Arioch,  whom the king had assigned to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He came and said to him, ‘Don’t destroy the wise men of Babylon! Bring me before the king, and I will give him the interpretation.’


Then the remnant of Jacob will be among many peoples like dew from the  Lord, like showers on the grass, which do not wait for anyone or linger for mankind.


You will even be brought before governors and kings because of me, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.


Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul;   rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.


‘Aren’t there twelve hours in a day? ’ Jesus answered. ‘If anyone walks during the day, he doesn’t stumble, because he sees the light of this world.


After these events, Paul resolved by the Spirit  to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem. ‘After I’ve been there,’ he said, ‘it is necessary for me to see Rome as well.’


The following night, the Lord stood by him and said, ‘Have courage! For as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so it is necessary for you to testify in Rome.’


If then I did anything wrong and am deserving of death, I am not trying to escape death; but if there is nothing to what these men accuse me of, no one can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar! ’


Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, ‘Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved.’


In all there were 276 of us on the ship.


The soldiers’ plan was to kill the prisoners so that no one could swim away and escape.


The rest were to follow, some on planks and some on debris from the ship. In this way, everyone safely reached the shore.


But the Lord said to him, ‘Go, for this man is my chosen instrument   to take my name to Gentiles,   kings, and Israelites.


Meanwhile, also prepare a guest room for me, since I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you.


Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.


When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man.  He laid his right hand on me and said, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last,
