1 Wisdomhas builther house,She has hewnout her sevenpillars;
2 She has preparedher food,she has mixedher wine;She has alsosether table;
3 She has sentout her maidens,she callsFrom the topsof the heightsof the city:
4 "Whoeveris naive,let him turnin here!"To him wholacksunderstandingshe says,
5 "Come,eatof my foodAnd drinkof the wineI have mixed.
6 "Forsake[your] follyand live,And proceedin the wayof understanding."
7 He who correctsa scoffergetsdishonorfor himself, And he who reprovesa wickedman[gets] insultsfor himself.
8 Do not reprovea scoffer,orhe will hateyou, Reprovea wisemanand he will loveyou.
9 Give[instruction] to a wisemanand he will be stillwiser,Teacha righteousmanand he will increase[his] learning.
10 The fearof the LORDis the beginningof wisdom,And the knowledgeof the HolyOneis understanding.
11 For by me your dayswill be multiplied,And yearsof lifewill be addedto you.
12 Ifyou are wise,you are wisefor yourself, And if you scoff,you alonewill bearit.
13 The womanof follyis boisterous,[She is] naiveand knowsnothing.
14 She sitsat the doorwayof her house,On a seatby the highplacesof the city,
15 Callingto those who passby, Who are makingtheir pathsstraight:
16 "Whoeveris naive,let him turnin here,"And to him wholacksunderstandingshe says,
17 "Stolenwateris sweet;And bread[eaten] in secretis pleasant."
18 But he does not knowthat the deadare there,[That] her guestsare in the depthsof Sheol.
