Then she fellon her face,bowingto the groundand saidto him, "Whyhave I foundfavorin your sightthat you should takenoticeof me, since I am a foreigner?"
When he liftedup his eyesand looked,behold,threemenwere standingoppositehim; and when he saw[them], he ranfrom the tentdoorto meetthem and bowedhimself to the earth,
"For allmy father'shouseholdwas nothingbut deadmenbefore my lordthe king;yet you setyour servantamong those who ateat your own table.Whatrightdo I haveyetthat I should complainanymoreto the king?"
Then Davidthe kingwentin and satbeforethe LORD,and he said,"Whoam I, O LordGOD,and whatis my house,that You have broughtme thisfar?
Again he prostratedhimself and said,"Whatis your servant,that you should regarda deaddoglikeme?"
The strangerwho resideswith you shall be to you as the nativeamongyou, and you shall lovehim as yourself, for you were aliensin the landof Egypt;I am the LORDyour God.
For I was hungry,and you gaveMe [something] to eat;I was thirsty,and you gave Me [something] to drink;I was a stranger,and you invitedMe in;
"And howhas it [happened] to me, that the motherof my Lordwould cometo me?
"For He has had regardfor the humble stateof His bondslave;For behold,from this timeon allgenerationswill count me blessed.
[Be] devotedto oneanotherin brotherly love;give preferenceto one anotherin honor;
Boazrepliedto her, "Allthat you have donefor your mother-in-lawafterthe deathof your husbandhas been fullyreportedto me, and how you leftyour fatherand your motherand the landof your birth,and cameto a peoplethat you did not previouslyknow.
Then she said,"I have foundfavorin your sight,my lord,for you have comfortedme and indeedhave spokenkindlyto your maidservant,though I amnot like oneof your maidservants."
Her mother-in-lawthen saidto her, "Wheredid you gleantodayand wheredid you work?May he who tooknoticeof you be blessed."So she toldher mother-in-lawwith whomshe had workedand said,"The nameof the manwith whomI workedtodayis Boaz."
And Ruththe Moabitesssaidto Naomi,"Pleaselet me goto the fieldand gleanamong the earsof grainafterone in whosesightI may findfavor."And she saidto her, "Go,my daughter."
"Let your eyesbe on the fieldwhichthey reap,and goafterthem. Indeed,I have commandedthe servantsnot to touchyou. When you are thirsty,goto the waterjarsand drinkfrom whatthe servantsdraw."
When AbigailsawDavid,she hurriedand dismountedfrom her donkey,and fellon her facebeforeDavidand bowedherself to the ground.
