Then behold,oneof the sonsof Israelcameand broughtto his relativesa Midianitewoman,in the sightof Mosesand in the sightof allthe congregationof the sonsof Israel,while they were weepingat the doorwayof the tentof meeting.
Then someMidianitetraderspassedby, so they pulled[him] up and liftedJosephout of the pit,and soldhim to the Ishmaelitesfor twenty[shekels] of silver.Thus they broughtJosephinto Egypt.
They arosefrom Midianand cameto Paran;and they tookmenwith them from Paranand cameto Egypt,to Pharaohkingof Egypt,who gavehim a houseand assignedhim foodand gavehim land.
Whowill standup for me againstevildoers?Whowill takehis standfor me againstthose who dowickedness?
Therefore in that daythe LordGODof hostscalled[you] to weeping,to wailing,To shavingthe headand to wearingsackcloth.
"Therefore the showershave been withheld,And there has beennospringrain.Yet you hada harlot'sforehead;You refusedto be ashamed.
When Jehudihad readthreeor fourcolumns,[the king] cutit with a scribe'sknifeand threw[it] into the firethat was in the brazier,untilallthe scrollwas consumedin the firethat was in the brazier.
"Were they ashamedbecauseof the abominationthey had done?They certainlywere not ashamed,And they did not knowhow to blush;Thereforethey shall fallamong those who fall;At the timeof their punishmentthey shall be broughtdown,"Saysthe LORD.
Let the priests,the LORD'Sministers,Weepbetweenthe porchand the altar,And let them say,"SpareYour people,O LORD,And do not makeYour inheritancea reproach,A bywordamong the nations.Whyshould they among the peoplessay,Whereis their God?'"
Then Aarontook[it] as Moseshad spoken,and raninto the midstof the assembly,for behold,the plaguehad begunamong the people.So he put[on] the incenseand madeatonementfor the people.
Moabsaidto the eldersof Midian,"Nowthis hordewill lickup allthat is aroundus, as the oxlicksup the grassof the field."And Balakthe sonof Zipporwas kingof Moabat that time.
"Takefullvengeancefor the sonsof Israelon the Midianites;afterwardyou will be gatheredto your people."
wildwavesof the sea,castingup their ownshamelike foam;wanderingstars,for whomthe blackdarknesshas been reservedforever.
When the angelof the LORDspokethesewordsto allthe sonsof Israel,the peopleliftedup their voicesand wept.
