Nowafter Jesuswas bornin Bethlehemof Judeain the daysof Herodthe king,magifrom the eastarrivedin Jerusalem,saying,
"But as for you, BethlehemEphrathah,[Too] littleto be among the clansof Judah,From you One will goforthfor Me to be rulerin Israel.His goingsforthare from longago,From the daysof eternity."
"Has not the Scripturesaidthat the Christcomesfrom the descendantsof David,and from Bethlehem,the villagewhereDavidwas?"
for todayin the cityof Davidthere has been bornfor you a Savior,whois Christthe Lord.
Then in that dayThe nationswill resortto the rootof Jesse,Whowill standas a signalfor the peoples;And His restingplacewill be glorious.
"The sceptershall not departfrom Judah,Northe ruler'sstafffrom betweenhis feet,UntilShilohcomes,And to him [shall be] the obedienceof the peoples.
They saidto him, "In Bethlehemof Judea;for thisis whathas been writtenby the prophet:
but kepther a virginuntilshe gave birthto a Son;and he calledHis nameJesus.
Whenthe angelshad gone awayfrom them into heaven,the shepherds[began] sayingto one another,"Let us go straightto Bethlehemthen,and seethisthingthat has happenedwhichthe Lordhas made knownto us."
In the daysof Herod,kingof Judea,there was a priestnamedZacharias,of the divisionof Abijah;and he had a wifefrom the daughtersof Aaron,and her namewas Elizabeth.

but to the sonsof his concubines,Abrahamgavegiftswhile he was stillliving,and sentthem awayfrom his sonIsaaceastward,to the landof the east.
But when Heroddied,behold,an angelof the Lordappearedin a dreamto Josephin Egypt,and said,
When Herodthe kingheard[this], he was troubled,and allJerusalemwith him.
Now their settlementextendedfrom Meshaas you gotoward Sephar,the hillcountryof the east.
His possessionsalso were 7,000sheep,3000camels,500yokeof oxen,500femaledonkeys,and verymanyservants;and that manwas the greatestof allthe menof the east.
Now in the morninghis spiritwas troubled,so he sentand calledfor allthe magiciansof Egypt,and allits wisemen.And Pharaohtoldthem his dreams,but therewas noonewho could interpretthem to Pharaoh.
Now there was a youngmanfrom Bethlehemin Judah,of the familyof Judah,whowas a Levite;and he was stayingthere.
ThenHerodsecretlycalledthe magiand determinedfrom them the exact timethe starappeared.
Thenwhen Herodsawthat he had been trickedby the magi,he became veryenraged,and sentand slewallthe male childrenwho were in Bethlehemand allits vicinity,from two years oldand under,accordingto the timewhichhe had determinedfrom the magi.
