Then the Spiritcameupon Amasai,who was the chiefof the thirty,[and he said], "[We] are yours, O David,And with you, O sonof Jesse!Peace,peaceto you, And peaceto him who helpsyou; Indeed,your Godhelpsyou!" Then Davidreceivedthem and madethem captainsof the band.
Now the Spiritof Godcameon Azariahthe sonof Oded,
Then in the midstof the assemblythe Spiritof the LORDcameupon Jahazielthe sonof Zechariah,the sonof Benaiah,the sonof Jeiel,the sonof Mattaniah,the Leviteof the sonsof Asaph;
Do not castme awayfrom Your presenceAnd do not takeYour HolySpiritfrom me.
"Then I will comedownand speakwith you there,and I will takeof the Spiritwhois upon you, and will put[Him] upon them; and they shall bearthe burdenof the peoplewith you, so that you will not bear[it] all alone.
Then the LORDcamedownin the cloudand spoketo him; and He tookof the Spiritwhowas upon him and placed[Him] upon the seventyelders.And when the Spiritrestedupon them, they prophesied.But they did not do[it] again.
But Mosessaidto him, "Are you jealousfor my sake? Wouldthat allthe LORD'Speoplewere prophets,that the LORDwould putHis Spiritupon them!"
And Balaamliftedup his eyesand sawIsraelcampingtribeby tribe;and the Spiritof Godcameupon him.
So the LORDsaidto Moses,"TakeJoshuathe sonof Nun,a manin whomis the Spirit,and layyour handon him;
For in the case of thosewho have oncebeen enlightenedand have tastedof the heavenlygiftand have been madepartakersof the HolySpirit,
Now the Spiritof the LORDcameupon Jephthah,so that he passedthroughGileadand Manasseh;then he passedthroughMizpahof Gilead,and from Mizpahof Gileadhe wenton to the sonsof Ammon.
So Jephthahcrossedoverto the sonsof Ammonto fightagainst them; and the LORDgavethem into his hand.
And the Spiritof the LORDbeganto stirhim in Mahaneh-dan,betweenZorahand Eshtaol.
Then the Spiritof the LORDcameupon him mightily,and he wentdownto Ashkelonand killedthirtyof them and tooktheir spoiland gavethe changes[of clothes] to those who toldthe riddle.And his angerburned,and he wentup to his father'shouse.
The Spiritof the LORDcameupon him mightily,so that he torehim as one tearsa younggoatthough he hadnothingin his hand;but he did not tellhis fatheror motherwhathe had done.
When he cameto Lehi,the Philistinesshoutedas they methim. And the Spiritof the LORDcameupon him mightilyso that the ropesthat were on his armswere as flaxthat is burnedwith fire,and his bondsdroppedfrom his hands.
Then the landhadrestfortyyears.And Othnielthe sonof Kenazdied.
Then the angerof the LORDwas kindledagainst Israel,so that He soldthem into the handsof Cushan-rishathaimkingof Mesopotamia;and the sonsof IsraelservedCushan-rishathaimeightyears.
So the Spiritof the LORDcameupon Gideon;and he blewa trumpet,and the Abiezriteswere calledtogetherto followhim.
When they cameto the hillthere,behold,a groupof prophetsmethim; and the Spiritof Godcameupon him mightily,so that he prophesiedamongthem.
"Then the Spiritof the LORDwill comeupon you mightily,and you shall prophesywith them and be changedinto anotherman.
Then the Spiritof Godcameupon Saulmightilywhen he heardthesewords,and he becameveryangry.
Then Samueltookthe hornof oiland anointedhim in the midstof his brothers;and the Spiritof the LORDcamemightilyupon Davidfrom that dayforward.And Samuelaroseand wentto Ramah.
