and Zelah,Haelephand the Jebusite(that is, Jerusalem),Gibeah,Kiriath;fourteencitieswith their villages.Thisis the inheritanceof the sonsof Benjaminaccording to their families.
They buriedthe bonesof Sauland Jonathanhis sonin the countryof Benjaminin Zela,in the graveof Kishhis father;thus they didallthat the kingcommanded,and afterthat Godwas movedby prayerfor the land.
Helebthe sonof Baanahthe Netophathite,Ittaithe sonof Ribaiof Gibeahof the sonsof Benjamin,
Now the kingand his menwentto Jerusalemagainstthe Jebusites,the inhabitantsof the land,and they saidto David,"You shall not comein here,but the blindand lamewill turnyou away";thinking,"Davidcannotenterhere."
Davidsaidon that day,"Whoeverwould strikethe Jebusites,let him reachthe lameand the blind,who are hatedby David'ssoul,through the watertunnel."Thereforethey say,"The blindor the lameshall not comeinto the house."
Thesewere headsof the fathers'[households] according to their generations,chiefmenwholivedin Jerusalem.
They have gonethroughthe pass,[saying], "Gebawill be our lodgingplace."Ramahis terrified,and Gibeahof Saulhas fledaway.
"Fleefor safety,O sonsof Benjamin,From the midstof Jerusalem!Now blowa trumpetin TekoaAnd raisea signaloverBeth-haccerem;For evillooksdownfrom the north,And a greatdestruction.
From the daysof Gibeahyou have sinned,O Israel;Therethey stand!Will not the battleagainstthe sonsof iniquityovertakethem in Gibeah?
The sonsof Benjaminaccording to their families:of Bela,the familyof the Belaites;of Ashbel,the familyof the Ashbelites;of Ahiram,the familyof the Ahiramites;
"To the larger[group] you shall increasetheir inheritance,and to the smaller[group] you shall diminishtheir inheritance;eachshall be giventheir inheritanceaccordingto those who were numberedof them.
You shall inheritthe landby lotaccording to your families;to the largeryou shall givemoreinheritance,and to the smalleryou shall givelessinheritance.Whereverthe lotfallsto anyone, that shall be his. You shall inheritaccording to the tribesof your fathers.
Now as for the Jebusites,the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the sonsof Judahcouldnot drivethem out; so the Jebusiteslivewith the sonsof Judahat Jerusalemuntilthisday.
Then the borderwentup the valleyof Ben-hinnomto the slopeof the Jebusiteon the south(that is, Jerusalem);and the borderwentup to the topof the mountainwhichis beforethe valleyof Hinnomto the west,whichis at the endof the valleyof Rephaimtoward the north.
The borderwentdownto the edgeof the hillwhichis in the valleyof Ben-hinnom,whichis in the valleyof Rephaimnorthward;and it wentdownto the valleyof Hinnom,to the slopeof the Jebusitesouthward,and wentdownto En-rogel.

Then the secondlotfellto Simeon,to the tribeof the sonsof Simeonaccording to their families,and their inheritancewas in the midstof the inheritanceof the sonsof Judah.
But the sonsof Benjamindid not driveout the Jebusiteswho livedin Jerusalem;so the Jebusiteshave livedwith the sonsof Benjaminin Jerusalemto thisday.
But the manwas not willingto spendthe night,so he aroseand departedand cameto [a place] oppositeJebus(that is, Jerusalem).And there were with him a pairof saddleddonkeys;his concubinealso was with him.
Saulalsowentto his houseat Gibeah;and the valiant[men] whoseheartsGodhad touchedwentwith him.
