"The uprightwill be appalledat this,And the innocentwill stirup himself againstthe godless.
When they liftedup their eyesat a distanceand did not recognizehim, they raisedtheir voicesand wept.And eachof them torehis robeand they threwdustovertheir headstoward the sky.
"The princesstoppedtalkingAnd put[their] handson their mouths;
"Behold,I am insignificant;whatcan I replyto You? I laymy handon my mouth.
"I have becomemute,I do not openmy mouth,Becauseit is You who have done[it].
Ifyou have beenfoolishin exaltingyourself Or ifyou have plotted[evil], [put your] handon your mouth.
ThusHe will sprinklemanynations,Kingswill shuttheir mouthson accountof Him; For whathad not been toldthem they will see,And whatthey had not heardthey will understand.
Thereforeat sucha timethe prudentperson keepssilent,for it is an eviltime.
Nationswill seeand be ashamedOf alltheir might.They will put[their] handon [their] mouth,Their earswill be deaf.
Oh,the depthof the richesbothof the wisdomand knowledgeof God!Howunsearchableare His judgmentsand unfathomableHis ways!
They saidto him, "Be silent,putyour handoveryour mouthand comewith us, and be to us a fatherand a priest.Is it betterfor you to be a priestto the houseof oneman,orto be priestto a tribeand a familyin Israel?"
