The eldersof the daughterof ZionSiton the ground,they are silent.They have thrownduston their heads;They have girdedthemselves with sackcloth.The virginsof JerusalemHave bowedtheir headsto the ground.
And they will maketheir voiceheardoveryou And will crybitterly.They will castduston their heads,They will wallowin ashes.
Then Joshuatorehis clothesand fellto the earthon his facebeforethe arkof the LORDuntilthe evening,[both] he and the eldersof Israel;and they putduston their heads.
"And they threwduston their headsand were cryingout, weepingand mourning,saying,Woe,woe,the greatcity,in whichallwho hadshipsat seabecame richby her wealth,for in onehourshe has been laid waste!'
When the angelof the LORDspokethesewordsto allthe sonsof Israel,the peopleliftedup their voicesand wept.
Then the messengerscameto Gibeahof Sauland spokethese wordsin the hearingof the people,and allthe peopleliftedup their voicesand wept.
Then Davidand the peoplewhowere with him liftedtheir voicesand weptuntiltherewas nostrengthin them to weep.
Now a manof Benjaminranfrom the battlelineand cameto Shilohthe samedaywith his clothestornand duston his head.
