Now the heartof the kingof Aramwas enragedoverthisthing;and he calledhis servantsand saidto them, "Will you tellme whichof us is for the kingof Israel?"
"Your own mouthcondemnsyou, and not I; And your own lipstestifyagainst you.
"In the fullnessof his plentyhe will be cramped;The handof everyonewhosufferswill come[against] him.
"Then indeed,He enticedyou from the mouthof distress,Insteadof it, a broadplacewith noconstraint;And that whichwas seton your tablewas fullof fatness.
You enlargemy stepsunderme, And my feethave not slipped.
The LORDnullifiesthe counselof the nations;He frustratesthe plansof the peoples.
The righteousnessof the blamelesswill smoothhis way,But the wickedwill fallby his own wickedness.
By transgressionan evilmanis ensnared,But the righteoussingsand rejoices.
When you walk,your stepswill not be impeded;And ifyou run,you will not stumble.
The thing itselfwill be carriedto AssyriaAs tributeto KingJareb;Ephraimwill be seizedwith shameAnd Israelwill be ashamedof its own counsel.
For the wisdomof thisworldis foolishnessbeforeGod.For it is written,"[He is] THE ONE WHO CATCHESTHE WISEIN THEIR CRAFTINESS";
