For You are my hope;O LordGOD,[You are] my confidencefrom my youth.

"O Hopeof Israel,Its Saviorin timeof distress,Whyare You like a strangerin the landOr like a travelerwho has pitchedhis [tent] for the night?
O LORD,the hopeof Israel,Allwho forsakeYou will be putto shame.Those who turnawayon earthwill be writtendown,Becausethey have forsakenthe fountainof livingwater,even the LORD.

"They were scatteredfor lackof a shepherd,and they becamefoodfor everybeastof the fieldand were scattered.
"Then you will knowthat I, the LORD,have heardallyour revilingswhichyou have spokenagainstthe mountainsof Israelsaying,'They are laiddesolate;they are givento us for food.'
"O Lord,in accordance with allYour righteousacts,let nowYour angerand Your wrathturnawayfrom Your cityJerusalem,Your holymountain;for becauseof our sinsand the iniquitiesof our fathers,Jerusalemand Your people[have become] a reproachto allthose aroundus.
"Moreover, we have not listenedto Your servantsthe prophets,whospokein Your nameto our kings,our princes,our fathersand allthe peopleof the land.
"But I am veryangrywith the nationswho are at ease;for while I was only a littleangry,they furtheredthe disaster."
