Godwill hearand answerthem-- Even the one who sitsenthronedfrom of old--Selah.With whomthereis nochange,And who do not fearGod.
"For the waywardnessof the naivewill killthem, And the complacencyof foolswill destroythem.
We have heardof the prideof Moab,an excessivepride;[Even] of his arrogance,pride,and fury;His idleboastsare false.
The earthwill be completelylaidwasteand completelydespoiled,for the LORDhas spokenthisword.
The LORDof hostswill preparea lavishbanquetfor allpeopleson thismountain;A banquetof agedwine,choicepieces with marrow,[And] refined,agedwine.
"I spoketo you in your prosperity;But you said,'I will not listen!'Thishas been your practicefrom your youth,That you have not obeyedMy voice.
"Thereforebehold,the daysare coming,"declaresthe LORD,"when I will sendto him those who tip[vessels], and they will tiphim over,and they will emptyhis vesselsand shatterhis jars.
"We have heardof the prideof Moab--he [is] veryproud--Of his haughtiness,his pride,his arroganceand his self-exaltation.
"Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonhas devouredme [and] crushedme, He has setme down[like] an emptyvessel;He has swallowedme like a monster,He has filledhis stomachwith my delicacies;He has washedme away.
She is emptied!Yes, she is desolateand waste!Heartsare meltingand kneesknocking!Also anguishis in the wholebodyAnd alltheir facesare grownpale!
For the LORDwill restorethe splendorof JacobLike the splendorof Israel,Even thoughdevastatorshave devastatedthem And destroyedtheir vinebranches.
"It will comeabout at that timeThat I will searchJerusalemwith lamps,And I will punishthe menWho are stagnantin spirit,Who sayin their hearts,'The LORDwill not dogoodor evil!'
"But I am veryangrywith the nationswho are at ease;for while I was only a littleangry,they furtheredthe disaster."
