The earthmourns[and] withers,the worldfades[and] withers,the exaltedof the peopleof the earthfadeaway.
And allthe hostof heavenwill wearaway,And the skywill be rolledup like a scroll;Alltheir hostswill also witherawayAs a leafwithersfrom the vine,Or as [one] withersfrom the figtree.
And it will growloverit in that daylike the roaringof the sea.If one looksto the land,behold,there is darkness[and] distress;Even the lightis darkenedby its clouds.
"I clothethe heavenswith blacknessAnd makesackcloththeir covering."
"It has been madea desolation,Desolate,it mournsbeforeMe; The wholelandhas been madedesolate,Becausenomanlaysit to heart.
Howlongis the landto mournAnd the vegetationof the countrysideto wither?For the wickednessof those who dwellin it, Animalsand birdshave been snatchedaway,Because[men] have said,"He will not seeour latterending."
"JudahmournsAnd her gateslanguish;They siton the groundin mourning,And the cryof Jerusalemhas ascended.
For the landis fullof adulterers;For the landmournsbecauseof the curse.The pasturesof the wildernesshave driedup. Their coursealso is evilAnd their mightis not right.
"The angerof the LORDwill not turnbackUntilHe has performedand carriedout the purposesof His heart;In the lastdaysyou will clearlyunderstandit.
The fierceangerof the LORDwill not turnbackUntilHe has performedand untilHe has accomplishedThe intentof His heart;In the latterdaysyou will understandthis.
Liftup a signalagainstthe wallsof Babylon;Posta strongguard,Stationsentries,Placemen in ambush!For the LORDhas bothpurposedand performedWhatHe spokeconcerningthe inhabitantsof Babylon.
"As for you, do not prayfor thispeople,and do not liftup cryor prayerfor them, and do not intercedewith Me; for I do not hearyou.
The LORDhas donewhatHe purposed;He has accomplishedHis wordWhichHe commandedfrom daysof old.He has throwndownwithoutsparing,And He has caused the enemyto rejoiceoveryou; He has exaltedthe mightof your adversaries.

Shall I ransomthem from the powerof Sheol?Shall I redeemthem from death?O Death,whereare your thorns?O Sheol,whereis your sting?Compassionwill be hiddenfrom My sight.
Thereforethe landmourns,And everyonewho livesin it languishesAlong with the beastsof the fieldand the birdsof the sky,And alsothe fishof the seadisappear.
The fieldis ruined,The landmourns;For the grainis ruined,The newwinedriesup, Freshoilfails.
"For thussaysthe LORDof hosts,'Justas I purposedto doharmto you when your fathersprovokedMe to wrath,'saysthe LORDof hosts,and I have not relented,
"Godis not a man,that He should lie,Nora sonof man,that He should repent;Has He said,and will He not doit? Or has He spoken,and will He not makeit good?
Nowfrom the sixthhourdarknessfellupon allthe landuntilthe ninthhour.
