and I broughtthem into the houseof the LORD,into the chamberof the sonsof Hananthe sonof Igdaliah,the manof God,whichwas nearthe chamberof the officials,whichwas abovethe chamberof Maaseiahthe sonof Shallum,the doorkeeper.
But the wordof Godcameto Shemaiahthe manof God,saying,
Now behold,there camea manof Godfrom Judahto Bethelby the wordof the LORD,while Jeroboamwas standingby the altarto burnincense.
Now when the prophetwhobroughthim backfrom the wayheard[it], he said,"It is the manof God,whodisobeyedthe commandof the LORD;therefore the LORDhas givenhim to the lion,which has tornhim and killedhim, according to the wordof the LORDwhichHe spoketo him."
So she saidto Elijah,"Whatdo I have to do with you, O manof God?You have cometo me to bringmy iniquityto remembranceand to putmy sonto death!"
Then the womansaidto Elijah,"NowI knowthat you are a manof Godand that the wordof the LORDin your mouthis truth."
Then a manof Godcamenearand spoketo the kingof Israeland said,"Thussaysthe LORD,'Becausethe Arameanshave said,"The LORDis a godof [the] mountains,but He is not a godof [the] valleys,"therefore I will giveallthisgreatmultitudeinto your hand,and you shall knowthat I am the LORD.'"
Then [the king] sentto him a captainof fiftywith his fifty.And he wentup to him, and behold,he was sittingon the topof the hill.And he saidto him, "O manof God,the kingsays,'Comedown.'"
But Jehoiadathe priesttooka chestand boreda holein its lidand putit besidethe altar,on the rightsideas onecomesinto the houseof the LORD;and the priestswho guardedthe thresholdputin it allthe moneywhich was broughtinto the houseof the LORD.
Then the captainof the guardtookSeraiahthe chiefpriestand Zephaniahthe secondpriest,with the threeofficersof the temple.
So he wentdownand dipped[himself] seventimesin the Jordan,according to the wordof the manof God;and his fleshwas restoredlike the fleshof a littlechildand he was clean.
But Gehazi,the servantof Elishathe manof God,thought,"Behold,my masterhas sparedthisNaamanthe Aramean,by not receivingfrom his handswhathe brought.As the LORDlives,I will runafterhim and takesomethingfrom him."
The kingof Israelsentto the placeabout whichthe manof Godhad toldhim; thus he warnedhim, so that he guardedhimself there,more than onceor twice.
Now the kingappointedthe royalofficeron whosehandhe leanedto havechargeof the gate;but the peopletrampledon him at the gate,and he diedjustas the manof Godhad said,whospokewhen the kingcamedownto him.
The royalofficeron whosehandthe kingwas leaningansweredthe manof Godand said,"Behold,if the LORDshould makewindowsin heaven,could thisthingbe?" Then he said,"Behold,you will seeit with your own eyes,but you will not eatof it."
They spentthe nightaroundthe houseof God,becausethe watchwas committedto them; and they [were] in chargeof opening[it] morningby morning.
Now according to the ordinanceof his fatherDavid,he appointedthe divisionsof the priestsfor their service,and the Levitesfor their dutiesof praiseand ministeringbeforethe priestsaccording to the dailyrule,and the gatekeepersby their divisionsat everygate;for Davidthe manof Godhad socommanded.
For a dayin Your courtsis betterthana thousand[outside]. I would rather standat the thresholdof the houseof my GodThandwellin the tentsof wickedness.
The wordwhichcameto Jeremiahfrom the LORDwhen KingZedekiahsentto him Pashhurthe sonof Malchijah,and Zephaniahthe priest,the sonof Maaseiah,saying,
When the officialsof Judahheardthesethings,they cameup from the king'shouseto the houseof the LORDand satin the entranceof the NewGateof the LORD'S[house].
Then I tookJaazaniahthe sonof Jeremiah,sonof Habazziniah,and his brothersand allhis sonsand the wholehouseof the Rechabites,
A chamberwith its doorwaywas by the sidepillarsat the gates;therethey rinsethe burntoffering.
by settingtheir thresholdby My thresholdand their doorpostbesideMy doorpost,with [only] the wallbetweenMe and them. And they have defiledMy holynameby their abominationswhichthey have committed.So I have consumedthem in My anger.
Now thisis the blessingwith whichMosesthe manof Godblessedthe sonsof Israelbeforehis death.
But fleefrom these things,you manof God,and pursuerighteousness,godliness,faith,love,perseverance[and] gentleness.
sothat the manof Godmay be adequate,equippedfor everygoodwork.
Then the sonsof Judahdrewnearto Joshuain Gilgal,and Calebthe sonof Jephunnehthe Kenizzitesaidto him, "You knowthe wordwhichthe LORDspoketo Mosesthe manof Godconcerningyou and me in Kadesh-barnea.
Then a manof Godcameto Eliand saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,Did I [not] indeedrevealMyself to the houseof your fatherwhen they were in Egypt[in bondage] to Pharaoh'shouse?
