Edom,Moaband the sonsof Ammon;
Remember,O LORD,against the sonsof EdomThe dayof Jerusalem,Who said,"Razeit, razeit To its very foundation."
For the handof the LORDwill reston thismountain,And Moabwill be troddendownin his placeAs strawis troddendownin the waterof a manurepile.
thussaysthe LORDto me-- "Makefor yourself bondsand yokesand putthem on your neck,
and sendword to the kingof Edom,to the kingof Moab,to the kingof the sonsof Ammon,to the kingof Tyreand to the kingof Sidonby the messengerswho cometo Jerusalemto Zedekiahkingof Judah.
and saidto him, "Are you wellawarethat Baalisthe kingof the sonsof Ammonhas sentIshmaelthe sonof Nethaniahto takeyour life?"But Gedaliahthe sonof Ahikamdid not believethem.
Concerning Moab.Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,"Woeto Nebo,for it has been destroyed;Kiriathaimhas beenputto shame,it has been captured;The loftystrongholdhas beenputto shameand shattered.
Concerning the sonsof Ammon.Thussaysthe LORD:"Does Israelhavenosons?Orhashe noheirs?Whythen has Malcamtakenpossessionof GadAnd his peoplesettledin its cities?
Concerning Edom.Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,"Is therenolongeranywisdomin Teman?Has good counselbeenlostto the prudent?Has their wisdomdecayed?
Egyptand Judah,and Edomand the sonsof Ammon,and Moaband allthose inhabitingthe desertwho clipthe hair on their temples;for allthe nationsare uncircumcised,and allthe houseof Israelare uncircumcisedof heart."
And the wordof the LORDcameto me saying,
"Therealso is Edom,its kingsand allits princes,whofor [all] their mightare laidwith those slainby the sword;they will liewith the uncircumcisedand with those who godownto the pit.
Thussaysthe LORD,"For threetransgressionsof Edomand for fourI will not revokeits [punishment], Becausehe pursuedhis brotherwith the sword,While he stifledhis compassion;His angeralso torecontinually,And he maintainedhis furyforever.
Thussaysthe LORD,"For threetransgressionsof the sonsof Ammonand for fourI will not revokeits [punishment], Becausethey rippedopenthe pregnantwomenof GileadIn orderto enlargetheir borders.
Thussaysthe LORD,"For threetransgressionsof Moaband for fourI will not revokeits [punishment], Becausehe burnedthe bonesof the kingof Edomto lime.
"Then the houseof Jacobwill be a fireAnd the houseof Josepha flame;But the houseof Esau[will be] as stubble.And they will setthem on fireand consumethem, So that there will be nosurvivorof the houseof Esau,"For the LORDhas spoken.
