They forgotGodtheir Savior,Who had donegreatthingsin Egypt,
"Thisis your lot,the portionmeasuredto you From Me," declaresthe LORD,"Becauseyou have forgottenMe And trustedin falsehood.
A voiceis heardon the bareheights,The weeping[and] the supplicationsof the sonsof Israel;Becausethey have pervertedtheir way,They have forgottenthe LORDtheir God.
"Has a nationchangedgodsWhen they were not gods?But My peoplehave changedtheir gloryFor that which does not profit.
For you have forgottenthe Godof your salvationAnd have not rememberedthe rockof your refuge.Thereforeyou plantdelightfulplantsAnd setthem with vineslipsof a strange[god].
For Israelhas forgottenhis Makerand builtpalaces;And Judahhas multipliedfortifiedcities,But I will senda fireon its citiesthat it may consumeits palatialdwellings.
I will rejoicegreatlyin the LORD,My soulwill exultin my God;For He has clothedme with garmentsof salvation,He has wrappedme with a robeof righteousness,As a bridegroomdeckshimself with a garland,And as a brideadornsherself with her jewels.
The wickedwill returnto Sheol,[Even] allthe nationswhoforgetGod.
For My peoplehave forgottenMe, They burnincenseto worthlessgods And they have stumbledfrom their ways,From the ancientpaths,To walkin bypaths,Not on a highway,
Thiswickedpeople,whorefuseto listento My words,who walkin the stubbornnessof their heartsand have goneafterothergodsto servethem and to bowdownto them, let them be just like thiswaistbandwhichis totallyworthless.
And I sawthe holycity,newJerusalem,coming downout of heavenfrom God,made readyas a brideadornedfor her husband.
"In you they have takenbribesto shedblood;you have takeninterestand profits,and you have injuredyour neighborsfor gainby oppression,and you have forgottenMe," declaresthe LordGOD.
Whenthe camelshad finisheddrinking,the mantooka goldringweighinga half-shekeland twobraceletsfor her wristsweighingtenshekels in gold,
"O daughtersof Israel,weepoverSaul,Who clothedyou luxuriouslyin scarlet,Who putornamentsof goldon your apparel.
The servantbroughtout articlesof silverand articlesof gold,and garments,and gavethem to Rebekah;he also gavepreciousthingsto her brotherand to her mother.
When he sawthe ringand the braceletson his sister'swrists,and when he heardthe wordsof Rebekahhis sister,saying,"Thisis whatthe mansaidto me," he wentto the man;and behold,he was standingby the camelsat the spring.
"Of whomwere you worriedand fearfulWhenyou lied,and did not rememberMe Norgive[Me] a thought?Was I not silenteven for a longtimeSo you do not fearMe?
"Howwellyou prepareyour wayTo seeklove!Thereforeeventhe wickedwomenYou have taughtyour ways.
"But Jeshurungrewfatand kicked--You are grownfat,thick,and sleek--Then he forsookGodwho madehim, And scornedthe Rockof his salvation.
Thus the sonsof Israeldid not rememberthe LORDtheir God,who had deliveredthem from the handsof alltheir enemieson everyside;
who intendto make My peopleforgetMy nameby their dreamswhichthey relateto oneanother,justas their fathersforgotMy namebecause of Baal?
