For allof us have becomelike one who is unclean,And allour righteousdeedsare like a filthygarment;And allof us witherlike a leaf,And our iniquities,like the wind,takeus away.
For I knowthat nothinggooddwellsin me, that is, in my flesh;for the willingis presentin me, but the doingof the good[is] not.
Wretchedmanthat I am! Whowill set me freefrom the bodyof thisdeath?
Now Joshuawas clothedwith filthygarmentsand standingbeforethe angel.
Allof us like sheephave goneastray,Eachof us has turnedto his own way;But the LORDhas caused the iniquityof us allTo fallon Him.
For we alsooncewere foolishourselves,disobedient,deceived,enslavedto variouslustsand pleasures,spending our lifein maliceand envy,hateful,hatingone another.
"Howthen can a manbe justwith God?Or howcan he be cleanwho is bornof woman?
"Whocan makethe cleanout of the unclean?Noone!
and may be foundin Him, not havinga righteousnessof my ownderivedfrom [the] Law,but that which is throughfaithin Christ,the righteousnesswhich [comes] from Godon the basisof faith,
"Listento Me, you stubborn-minded,Who are farfrom righteousness.
Behold,I was broughtforthin iniquity,And in sinmy motherconceivedme.
Thenoneof the eldersanswered,sayingto me, "Thesewho are clothedin the whiterobes,whoare they, and wherehave they comefrom?"
Then I said,"Woeis me, for I am ruined!BecauseI am a manof uncleanlips,And I liveamonga peopleof uncleanlips;For my eyeshave seenthe King,the LORDof hosts."
The windwrapsthem in its wings,And they will be ashamedbecauseof their sacrifices.
"Hearthis,O houseof Jacob,who are namedIsraelAnd who cameforthfrom the loinsof Judah,Who swearby the nameof the LORDAnd invokethe Godof Israel,[But] not in truthnorin righteousness.
The wickedare not so,But they are like chaffwhichthe winddrivesaway.
"Behold,I am insignificant;whatcan I replyto You? I laymy handon my mouth.
For you will be like an oakwhose leaffadesawayOr as a gardenthat hasnowater.
Thussaysthe LORD,"Whereis the certificateof divorceBy whichI have sentyour motheraway?Orto whomof My creditorsdid I sellyou? Behold,you were soldfor your iniquities,And for your transgressionsyour motherwas sentaway.
"Ifthe leprosybreaksout fartheron the skin,and the leprosycoversallthe skinof [him who has] the infectionfrom his headeven to his feet,as faras the priestcan see,
"Foreignersloseheart,And cometremblingout of their fortresses.
Do allthe workersof wickednessnot know,Who eatup my people[as] they eatbread,[And] do not callupon the Lord?
But transgressorsand sinnerswill be crushedtogether,And those who forsakethe LORDwill cometo an end.
And I will waitfor the LORDwho is hidingHis facefrom the houseof Jacob;I will even lookeagerlyfor Him.
"Yet you have not calledon Me, O Jacob;But you have becomewearyof Me, O Israel.
"Whywas therenomanwhen I came?When I called,[why] was therenoneto answer?Is My handsoshortthat it cannotransom?OrhaveI nopowerto deliver?Behold,I dryup the seawith My rebuke,I makethe riversa wilderness;Their fishstinkfor lackof waterAnd dieof thirst.
"As it is writtenin the lawof Moses,allthiscalamityhas comeon us; yet we have not soughtthe favorof the LORDour Godby turningfrom our iniquityand givingattentionto Your truth.
Allof them are hotlike an oven,And they consumetheir rulers;Alltheir kingshave fallen.Noneof them callson Me.
