But I said,"I have toiledin vain,I have spentMy strengthfor nothingand vanity;Yet surelythe justice[due] to Me is with the LORD,And My rewardwith My God."
He said,"I have beenveryzealousfor the LORD,the Godof hosts;for the sonsof Israelhave forsakenYour covenant,torndownYour altarsand killedYour prophetswith the sword.And I aloneam left;and they seekmy life,to takeit away."
Manyseekthe ruler'sfavor,But justicefor man[comes] from the LORD.
O LORD,You are my God;I will exaltYou, I will givethanksto Your name;For You have workedwonders,Plans[formed] longago,with perfectfaithfulness.
Sayto those with anxiousheart,"Takecourage,fearnot. Behold,your Godwill come[with] vengeance;The recompenseof Godwill come,But He will saveyou."
Behold,the LordGODwill comewith might,With His armrulingfor Him. Behold,His rewardis with Him And His recompensebeforeHim.
Whydo you say,O Jacob,and assert,O Israel,"My wayis hiddenfrom the LORD,And the justicedue me escapesthe noticeof my God"?
"Thereis nopeace,"saysmy God,"for the wicked."
Accordingto [their] deeds,soHe will repay,Wrathto His adversaries,recompenseto His enemies;To the coastlandsHe will makerecompense.
I will rejoicegreatlyin the LORD,My soulwill exultin my God;For He has clothedme with garmentsof salvation,He has wrappedme with a robeof righteousness,As a bridegroomdeckshimself with a garland,And as a brideadornsherself with her jewels.
Behold,the LORDhas proclaimedto the endof the earth,Sayto the daughterof Zion,"Lo,your salvationcomes;BeholdHis rewardis with Him, and His recompensebeforeHim."
"I have spreadout My handsalldaylong to a rebelliouspeople,Who walk[in] the waywhich is not good,followingtheir own thoughts,
"They will not laborin vain,Or bear[children] for calamity;For they are the offspringof those blessedby the LORD,And their descendantswith them.
"Yet ifyou have warnedthe wickedand he does not turnfrom his wickednessor from his wickedway,he shall diein his iniquity;but you have deliveredyourself.
Your strengthwill be spentuselessly,for your landwill not yieldits produceand the treesof the landwill not yieldtheir fruit.
And Jesusansweredand said,"You unbelievingand pervertedgeneration,howlongshall I be with you? How longshall I putup with you? Bringhim hereto Me."
"Jerusalem,Jerusalem,who killsthe prophetsand stonesthosewho are sentto her! How oftenI wantedto gatheryour childrentogether,the waya hengathersher chicksunderher wings,and you were unwilling.
"Was it not necessaryfor the Christto sufferthese thingsand to enterinto His glory?"
He cameto His own,and thosewho were His owndid not receiveHim.
But as for IsraelHe says,"ALLTHE DAYLONG I HAVE STRETCHEDOUT MY HANDSTO A DISOBEDIENTAND OBSTINATEPEOPLE."
I will most gladlyspendand be expendedfor your souls.IfI loveyou more,am I to be lovedless?
For we are a fragranceof Christto Godamongthosewho are being savedand amongthosewho are perishing;
I fearfor you, that perhapsI have laboredoveryou in vain.
holding fastthe wordof life,sothat in the dayof ChristI will have reason to glorybecauseI did not runin vainnortoilin vain.
fixing our eyeson Jesus,the authorand perfecterof faith,whofor the joyset beforeHim enduredthe cross,despisingthe shame,and has sat downat the right handof the throneof God.
