The daughterof Zionis leftlike a shelterin a vineyard,Like a watchman'shutin a cucumberfield,like a besiegedcity.
For the fortifiedcityis isolated,A homesteadforlornand forsakenlike the desert;Therethe calfwill graze,And thereit will liedownand feedon its branches.

Shakeyourself from the dust,riseup, O captiveJerusalem;Looseyourself from the chainsaround your neck,O captivedaughterof Zion.

Your holycitieshave becomea wilderness,Zionhas becomea wilderness,Jerusalema desolation.
and they will fallby the edgeof the sword,and will be led captiveinto allthe nations;and Jerusalemwill be trampled underfoot by the Gentilesuntilthe timesof the Gentilesare fulfilled.
For ifyou were cut offfrom whatis by naturea wild olive tree,and were graftedcontraryto natureinto a cultivated olive tree,how muchmorewill thesewhoare the natural[branches] be graftedinto their ownolive tree?
And ifyou belong to Christ,thenyou are Abraham'sdescendants,heirsaccordingto promise.
