The watersfrom the seawill dryup, And the riverwill be parchedand dry.
"[As] waterevaporatesfrom the sea,And a riverbecomesparchedand driedup,
For the watersof Nimrimare desolate.Surelythe grassis withered,the tendergrassdiedout, There is nogreenthing.
He has stretchedHis handout overthe sea,He has made the kingdomstremble;The LORDhas givena commandconcerningCanaanto demolishits strongholds.
I dug[wells] and drankwaters,And with the soleof my feetI driedup Allthe riversof Egypt.'
"Whywas therenomanwhen I came?When I called,[why] was therenoneto answer?Is My handsoshortthat it cannotransom?OrhaveI nopowerto deliver?Behold,I dryup the seawith My rebuke,I makethe riversa wilderness;Their fishstinkfor lackof waterAnd dieof thirst.
Thereforethussaysthe LORD,"Behold,I am going to pleadyour caseAnd exactfullvengeancefor you; And I will dryup her seaAnd makeher fountaindry.
"Moreover, I will makethe NilecanalsdryAnd sellthe landinto the handsof evilmen.And I will makethe landdesolateAnd allthat is in it, By the handof strangers;I the LORDhave spoken."
"And they will passthrough the sea[of] distressAnd He will strikethe wavesin the sea,So that allthe depthsof the Nilewill dryup; And the prideof Assyriawill be broughtdownAnd the scepterof Egyptwill depart.
Ifthe familyof Egyptdoes not goup or enter,then no[rain will fall] on them; it will be the plaguewith whichthe LORDsmitesthe nationswhodo not goup to celebratethe Feastof Booths.
