I knowEphraim, and Israelis not hiddenfrom Me; For now,O Ephraim, you have playedthe harlot,Israelhas defileditself.
"For beforethe boywill know[enough] to refuseeviland choosegood, the landwhosetwokingsyou dreadwill be forsaken.
"The LORDwill bringon you, on your people, and on your father'shousesuchdaysas have nevercomesincethe daythat Ephraimseparatedfrom Judah, the kingof Assyria."
BecauseAram,[with] Ephraimand the sonof Remaliah, has plannedevilagainstyou, saying,
When the LORDfirstspokethrough Hosea, the LORDsaidto Hosea,"Go,taketo yourself a wifeof harlotryand [have] childrenof harlotry;for the landcommitsflagrantharlotry, forsakingthe LORD."
Ephraimfeedson wind,And pursuesthe eastwindcontinually; He multipliesliesand violence. Moreover, he makesa covenantwith Assyria,And oilis carriedto Egypt.
When Ephraimspoke,[there was] trembling. He exaltedhimselfin Israel,But through Baalhe didwrongand died.
I caredfor you in the wilderness,In the landof drought.
Ephraimis oppressed,crushedin judgment,Becausehe was determinedto follow[man's] command.
When Ephraimsawhis sickness,And Judahhis wound,Then Ephraimwentto AssyriaAnd sentto KingJareb. But he is unableto healyou, Or to cureyou of your wound.
Ephraimwill becomea desolationin the dayof rebuke;Among the tribesof IsraelI declarewhat is sure.
In the houseof IsraelI have seena horriblething;Ephraim'sharlotryis there,Israelhas defileditself.
Whatshall I dowith you, O Ephraim?Whatshall I dowith you, O Judah? For your loyaltyis like a morningcloudAnd like the dewwhich goesaway early.
SinceEphraimhas multipliedaltarsfor sin,They have becomealtarsof sinningfor him.
"You onlyhave I chosenamongallthe familiesof the earth;ThereforeI will punishyou for allyour iniquities."
For I knowyour transgressionsare manyand your sinsare great,[You] who distressthe righteous[and] acceptbribesAnd turnasidethe poorin the gate.
"As the firstbornof his ox,majestyis his, And his hornsare the hornsof the wildox; With them he will pushthe peoples,Allat once,[to] the endsof the earth. And thoseare the tenthousandsof Ephraim,And thoseare the thousandsof Manasseh."
And there is nocreaturehiddenfrom His sight, but all thingsare openand laid bareto the eyesof Him with whomwe have to do.
I knowyour deeds, that you are neithercoldnorhot;I wishthat you were coldorhot.
