So she removedher widow'sgarmentsand covered[herself] with a veil,and wrappedherself, and satin the gatewayof Enaim,whichis on the roadto Timnah;for she sawthat Shelahhad grownup, and she had not been givento him as a wife.
She saidto the servant,"Whois that manwalkingin the fieldto meetus?" And the servantsaid,"He is my master."Then she tookher veiland coveredherself.
When Judahsawher, he thoughtshe [was] a harlot,for she had coveredher face.
Then she aroseand departed,and removedher veiland puton her widow'sgarments.
Judahrecognized[them], and said,"She is morerighteousthanI, inasmuchas I did not giveher to my sonShelah."And he did not haverelationswith her again.
And behold,a woman[comes] to meethim, Dressedas a harlotand cunningof heart.
[She is] nowin the streets,nowin the squares,And lurksby everycorner.
"Liftup your eyesto the bareheightsand see;Wherehave you not been violated?By the roadsyou have satfor them Like an Arabin the desert,And you have polluteda landWith your harlotryand with your wickedness.
"You builtyourself a highplaceat the topof everystreetand madeyour beautyabominable,and you spreadyour legsto everypasser-byto multiplyyour harlotry.
