They heardthe soundof the LORDGodwalkingin the gardenin the coolof the day,and the manand his wifehidthemselves from the presenceof the LORDGodamongthe treesof the garden.
As soonas He had finishedspeakingto Abrahamthe LORDdeparted,and Abrahamreturnedto his place.
He said,"I heardthe soundof You in the garden,and I was afraidbecauseI was naked;so I hidmyself."
Cloudsare a hidingplacefor Him, so that He cannotsee;And He walkson the vaultof heaven.'
"Have I coveredmy transgressionslike Adam,By hidingmy iniquityin my bosom,
Then the LORDansweredJobout of the whirlwindand said,
The eyesof the LORDare in everyplace,Watchingthe eviland the good.
"Can a manhidehimself in hidingplacesSo I do not seehim?" declaresthe LORD."Do I not fillthe heavensand the earth?"declaresthe LORD.
Also the highplacesof Aven,the sinof Israel,will be destroyed;Thornand thistlewill growon their altars;Then they will sayto the mountains,"Coverus!" And to the hills,"Fallon us!"
I will also walkamongyou and be your God,and you shall be My people.
But Jonahroseup to fleeto Tarshishfrom the presenceof the LORD.So he wentdownto Joppa,founda shipwhich was goingto Tarshish,paidthe fareand wentdowninto it to gowith them to Tarshishfrom the presenceof the LORD.
in that they showthe workof the Lawwrittenin their hearts,their consciencebearing witnessand their thoughtsalternatelyaccusingorelsedefendingthem,
"Sincethe LORDyour Godwalksin the midstof your campto deliveryou and to defeatyour enemiesbeforeyou, therefore your campmust be holy;and He must not seeanythingindecentamong you or He will turnawayfrom you.
"Has [any] peopleheardthe voiceof Godspeakingfrom the midstof the fire,as you have heard[it], and survived?
Nowthen whyshould we die?For thisgreatfirewill consumeus; ifwe hearthe voiceof the LORDour Godanylonger,then we will die.
And there is nocreaturehiddenfrom His sight,but all thingsare openand laid bareto the eyesof Him with whomwe have to do.
Thenthe kingsof the earthand the great menand the commandersand the richand the strongand everyslaveand free manhidthemselvesin the cavesand amongthe rocksof the mountains;
