Godheardthe ladcrying;and the angelof Godcalledto Hagarfrom heavenand saidto her, "Whatis the matter with you, Hagar?Do not fear,for Godhas heardthe voiceof the ladwherehe is.
Afterthesethingsthe wordof the LORDcameto Abramin a vision,saying,"Do not fear,Abram,I am a shieldto you; Your rewardshall be verygreat."
The angelof the LORDsaidto her further, "Behold,you are with child,And you will beara son;And you shall callhis nameIshmael,Becausethe LORDhas givenheedto your affliction.
Now the angelof the LORDfoundher by a springof waterin the wilderness,by the springon the wayto Shur.
He said,"Hagar,Sarai'smaid,wherehave you comefrom and whereare you going?"And she said,"I am fleeingfrom the presenceof my mistressSarai."
Then the angelof the LORDsaidto her, "Returnto your mistress,and submityourself to her authority."
But the angelof the LORDcalledto him from heavenand said,"Abraham,Abraham!"And he said,"HereI am."
"The LORD,the Godof heaven,whotookme from my father'shouseand from the landof my birth,and whospoketo me and whosworeto me, saying,To your descendantsI will givethisland,'He will sendHis angelbeforeyou, and you will takea wifefor my sonfrom there.
The LORDappearedto him the samenightand said,"I am the Godof your fatherAbraham;Do not fear,for I am with you. I will blessyou, and multiplyyour descendants,For the sakeof My servantAbraham."
He said,"I am God,the Godof your father;do not be afraidto godownto Egypt,for I will makeyou a greatnationthere.
But the LORDwas graciousto them and hadcompassionon them and turnedto them becauseof His covenantwith Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,and wouldnot destroythem or castthem from His presenceuntilnow.
Then Jehoahazentreatedthe favorof the LORD,and the LORDlistenedto him; for He sawthe oppressionof Israel,howthe kingof Aramoppressedthem.
You have seen[it], for You have beheldmischiefand vexationto takeit into Your hand.The unfortunatecommits[himself] to You; You have beenthe helperof the orphan.
Callupon Me in the dayof trouble;I shall rescueyou, and you will honorMe."
Departfrom me, allyou who doiniquity,For the LORDhas heardthe voiceof my weeping.
O You who hearprayer,To You allmencome.
"He will callupon Me, and I will answerhim; I will be with him in trouble;I will rescuehim and honorhim.
But Mosessaidto the people,"Do not fear!Standby and seethe salvationof the LORDwhichHe will accomplishfor you today;for the Egyptianswhomyou have seentoday,you will neverseethem againforever.
"Ifyou afflicthim at all,[and] ifhe does cryout to Me, I will surelyhearhis cry;
for that is his onlycovering;it is his cloakfor his body.Whatelse shall he sleepin? And it shall comeabout that whenhe criesout to Me, I will hear[him], for I am gracious.
The angelof the LORDappearedto him in a blazingfirefrom the midstof a bush;and he looked,and behold,the bushwas burningwith fire,yet the bushwas not consumed.
The LORDsaid,"I have surelyseenthe afflictionof My peoplewhoare in Egypt,and have givenheedto their crybecauseof their taskmasters,for I am awareof their sufferings.
The oracleconcerning the valleyof vision.Whatis the matter with you now,that you have allgoneup to the housetops?
Do not fear,for I am with you; Do not anxiously lookabout you, for I am your God.I will strengthenyou, surelyI will helpyou, SurelyI will upholdyou with My righteousrighthand.'
And JesuscalledHis disciplesto Him, and said,"I feel compassionfor the people,becausethey have remainedwith Me nowthreedaysand havenothingto eat;and I do not wantto send them awayhungry,for they might fainton the way."
But Jesus,overhearingwhatwas being spoken,saidto the synagogue official,"Do not be afraid[any] [longer], onlybelieve."
Then we criedto the LORD,the Godof our fathers,and the LORDheardour voiceand sawour afflictionand our toiland our oppression;
They criedto the sonsof Dan,who turnedaroundand saidto Micah,"Whatis [the matter] with you, that you have assembledtogether?"
Now behold,Saulwas comingfrom the fieldbehindthe oxen,and he said,"Whatis [the matter] with the peoplethat they weep?"So they relatedto him the wordsof the menof Jabesh.
