He wenton his journeysfrom the Negevas faras Bethel,to the placewherehis tenthad beenat the beginning,betweenBetheland Ai,
to the placeof the altarwhichhe had madethereformerly;and thereAbramcalledon the nameof the LORD.
[Abraham] planteda tamarisktreeat Beersheba,and therehe calledon the nameof the LORD,the EverlastingGod.
Then they cameto the placeof whichGodhad toldhim; and Abrahambuiltthe altarthereand arrangedthe wood,and boundhis sonIsaacand laidhim on the altar,on topof the wood.
So he builtan altarthereand calledupon the nameof the LORD,and pitchedhis tentthere;and thereIsaac'sservantsduga well.
He calledthe nameof that placeBethel;however,previouslythe nameof the cityhad been Luz.
Labancaughtup with Jacob.Now Jacobhad pitchedhis tentin the hillcountry,and Labanwith his kinsmencampedin the hillcountryof Gilead.
Then he erectedtherean altarand calledit El-Elohe-Israel.
and let us ariseand goup to Bethel,and I will makean altarthereto God,who answeredme in the dayof my distressand has beenwith me whereverI have gone."
He builtan altarthere,and calledthe placeEl-bethel,becausethereGodhad revealedHimself to him when he fledfrom his brother.
To Seth,to him alsoa sonwas born;and he calledhis nameEnosh.Then[men] beganto callupon the nameof the LORD.
Then Noahbuiltan altarto the LORD,and tookof everycleananimaland of everycleanbirdand offeredburntofferingson the altar.

Then I calledupon the nameof the LORD:"O LORD,I beseechYou, savemy life!"

He has comeagainstAiath,He has passedthrough Migron;At Michmashhe depositedhis baggage.
"And it will comeabout that whoevercallson the nameof the LORDWill be delivered;For on MountZionand in JerusalemThere will be those who escape,As the LORDhas said,Even among the survivorswhomthe LORDcalls.
AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONEWHOCALLSON THE NAMEOF THE LORDWILL BE SAVED.'

So not a manwas leftin Aior Bethelwhohad not goneout afterIsrael,and they leftthe cityunguardedand pursuedIsrael.
So Joshuarosewith allthe peopleof warto goup to Ai;and Joshuachose30000men,valiantwarriors,and sentthem out at night.
ThenJoshuabuiltan altarto the LORD,the Godof Israel,in MountEbal,
So Joshuasentthem away,and they wentto the place of ambushand remainedbetweenBetheland Ai,on the westsideof Ai;but Joshuaspentthat nightamongthe people.
Then Gideonbuiltan altarthereto the LORDand namedit The LORDis Peace.To thisdayit is stillin Ophrahof the Abiezrites.
