Then they gavemoneyto the masonsand carpenters,and food,drinkand oilto the Sidoniansand to the Tyrians,to bringcedarwoodfrom Lebanonto the seaat Joppa,according to the permissionthey had from Cyruskingof Persia.
Then Hiramkingof Tyresentmessengersto Davidwith cedartreesand carpentersand stonemasons;and they builta housefor David.
"Nowtherefore, commandthat they cutfor me cedarsfrom Lebanon,and my servantswill be with your servants;and I will giveyou wagesfor your servantsaccording to allthat you say,for you knowthat thereis nooneamong us who knowshow to cuttimberlike the Sidonians."
When they sawthat there was muchmoneyin the chest,the king'sscribeand the highpriestcameup and tied[it] in bags and countedthe moneywhich was foundin the houseof the LORD.
But there were not madefor the houseof the LORDsilvercups,snuffers,bowls,trumpets,anyvesselsof gold,or vesselsof silverfrom the moneywhich was broughtinto the houseof the LORD;
Then they gave[it] into the handsof the workmenwho hadthe oversightof the houseof the LORD,and the workmenwhowere workingin the houseof the LORDusedit to restoreand repairthe house.
From the firstdayof the seventhmonththey beganto offerburntofferingsto the LORD,but the foundationof the templeof the LORDhad not been laid.
"Judahand the landof Israel,they were your traders;with the wheatof Minnith,cakes,honey,oiland balmthey paidfor your merchandise.
But Jonahroseup to fleeto Tarshishfrom the presenceof the LORD.So he wentdownto Joppa,founda shipwhich was goingto Tarshish,paidthe fareand wentdowninto it to gowith them to Tarshishfrom the presenceof the LORD.
Nowhe was very angrywith the people of Tyreand Sidon;and with one accordthey cameto him, and having won overBlastusthe king'schamberlain,they were askingfor peace,becausetheir countrywas fedby the king'scountry.
Nowin Joppathere was a disciplenamedTabitha(whichtranslated[in Greek] is calledDorcas);this womanwas aboundingwith deedsof kindnessand charitywhichshe continually did.
Since Lyddawas nearJoppa,the disciples,having heardthat Peterwas there,senttwomento him, imploringhim, "Do not delayin comingto us."
And Peter stayedmanydaysin Joppawith a tanner[named] Simon.
