[so] tellthose who plaster[it] overwith whitewash,that it will fall.A floodingrainwill come,and you, O hailstones,will fall;and a violentwindwill breakout.
"The eastwindcarrieshim away, and he is gone,For it whirlshim awayfrom his place.
"Have you enteredthe storehousesof the snow,Or have you seenthe storehousesof the hail,
WhichI have reservedfor the timeof distress,For the dayof warand battle?
Upon the wickedHe will rainsnares;Fireand brimstoneand burningwindwill be the portionof their cup.
Therefore,let everyonewho is godlyprayto You in a timewhen You may be found;Surelyin a floodof greatwatersthey will not reachhim.
For You have beena defensefor the helpless,A defensefor the needyin his distress,A refugefrom the storm,a shadefrom the heat;For the breathof the ruthlessIs like a [rain] storm[against] a wall.
Behold,the Lordhas a strongand mighty[agent]; As a stormof hail,a tempestof destruction,Like a stormof mightyoverflowingwaters,He has cast[it] downto the earthwith [His] hand.
From the LORDof hostsyou will be punishedwith thunderand earthquakeand loudnoise,[With] whirlwindand tempestand the flameof a consumingfire.
And it will hailwhen the forestcomesdown,And the citywill be utterlylaidlow.
As I looked,behold,a stormwindwas comingfrom the north,a greatcloudwith fireflashingforthcontinually and a brightlightaroundit, and in its midstsomething like glowingmetalin the midstof the fire.
"Behold,when the wallhas fallen,will you not be asked,'Whereis the plasterwith whichyou plastered[it]?'"
"With pestilenceand with bloodI will enterinto judgmentwith him; and I will rainon him and on his troops,and on the manypeopleswhoare with him, a torrentialrain,with hailstones,fireand brimstone.
The LORDis slowto angerand greatin power,And the LORDwill by nomeansleave[the guilty] unpunished.In whirlwindand stormis His way,And cloudsare the dustbeneath His feet.
