He caused their chariotwheelsto swerve,and He made them drivewith difficulty;so the Egyptianssaid,"Let us fleefrom Israel,for the LORDis fightingfor them against the Egyptians."
And the dreadof Godwas on allthe kingdomsof the landswhen they heardthat the LORDhad foughtagainstthe enemiesof Israel.
When I saw[their fear], I roseand spoketo the nobles,the officialsand the restof the people:"Do not be afraidof them; rememberthe Lordwho is greatand awesome,and fightfor your brothers,your sons,your daughters,your wivesand your houses."
Whenallour enemiesheard[of it], and allthe nationssurroundingus saw[it], they losttheir confidence;for they recognizedthat thisworkhad been accomplishedwith the helpof our God.
"You dividedthe seabeforethem, So they passedthrough the midstof the seaon dryground;And their pursuersYou hurledinto the depths,Likea stoneinto ragingwaters.
"But the eyesof the wickedwill fail,And there will be noescapefor them; And their hopeis to breathetheir last."
"He may fleefrom the ironweapon,[But] the bronzebowwill piercehim.
"For it will hurlat him withoutsparing;He will surelytry to fleefrom its power.
Contend,O LORD,with those who contendwith me; Fightagainstthose who fightagainst me.
He makes warsto ceaseto the endof the earth;He breaksthe bowand cutsthe spearin two;He burnsthe chariotswith fire.
"Kingsof armiesflee,they flee,And she whoremainsat homewill dividethe spoil!"
At Your rebuke,O Godof Jacob,Both riderand horsewere castinto a deadsleep.
"The LORDwill fightfor you while you keepsilent."
"Then the Egyptianswill knowthat I am the LORD,when I am honoredthrough Pharaoh,through his chariotsand his horsemen."
"Thus I will hardenPharaoh'sheart,and he will chaseafterthem; and I will be honoredthrough Pharaohand allhis army,and the Egyptianswill knowthat I am the LORD."And they didso.
"The LORDis a warrior;The LORDis His name.
For thussaysthe LORDto me, "As the lionor the youngliongrowlsoverhis prey,Againstwhicha bandof shepherdsis calledout, [And] he will not be terrifiedat their voicenordisturbedat their noise,Sowill the LORDof hostscomedownto wagewaron MountZionand on its hill."
"With you I shatterthe horseand his rider,And with you I shatterthe chariotand its rider,
"So I will kindlea fireon the wallof RabbahAnd it will consumeher citadelsAmid warcrieson the dayof battle,And a stormon the dayof tempest.
As whena manfleesfrom a lionAnd a bearmeetshim, Or goeshome,leanshis handagainstthe wallAnd a snakebiteshim.
I sawthe Lordstandingbesidethe altar,and He said,"Smitethe capitalsso that the thresholdswill shake,And breakthem on the headsof them all!Then I will slaythe restof them with the sword;They will not have a fugitivewho will flee,Or a refugeewho will escape.
The LORDyour Godwho goesbeforeyou will Himselffighton your behalf, justas He didfor you in Egyptbefore your eyes,
Do not fearthem, for the LORDyour Godis the one fightingfor you.'
"Indeedtheir rockis not like our Rock,Even our enemiesthemselves judgethis.
There was nodaylike that beforeit or afterit, when the LORDlistenedto the voiceof a man;for the LORDfoughtfor Israel.
The LORDroutedSiseraand all[his] chariotsand all[his] armywith the edgeof the swordbeforeBarak;and Siseraalightedfrom [his] chariotand fledaway on foot.
