"It shall comeabout that as the LORDdelightedoveryou to prosperyou, and multiplyyou, sothe LORDwill delightoveryou to make you perishand destroyyou; and you will be tornfrom the landwhereyou are enteringto possessit.
The LORDsaid,"I will blotout manwhomI have createdfrom the faceof the land,from manto animalsto creepingthingsand to birdsof the sky;for I amsorrythat I have madethem."
You are goodand dogood;Teachme Your statutes.
I will alsolaughat your calamity;I will mockwhen your dreadcomes,
But the wickedwill be cutofffrom the landAnd the treacherouswill be uprootedfrom it.
Thereforethe LordGODof hosts,The MightyOneof Israel,declares,"Ah,I will be relievedof My adversariesAnd avengeMyself on My foes.
Then I said,"Lord,howlong?"And He answered,"Untilcitiesare devastated[and] withoutinhabitant,Housesare withoutpeopleAnd the landis utterlydesolate,
For [as] a youngmanmarriesa virgin,[So] your sonswill marryyou; And [as] the bridegroomrejoicesoverthe bride,[So] your Godwill rejoiceoveryou.
"At one momentI might speakconcerninga nationor concerninga kingdomto uproot,to pulldown,or to destroy[it];
For I will setMy eyeson them for good,and I will bringthem againto thisland;and I will buildthem up and not overthrowthem, and I will plantthem and not pluckthem up.
"As I have watchedoverthem to pluckup, to breakdown,to overthrow,to destroyand to bringdisaster,soI will watchoverthem to buildand to plant,"declaresthe LORD.
"And the wholevalleyof the deadbodiesand of the ashes,and allthe fieldsas faras the brookKidron,to the cornerof the HorseGatetoward the east,shall be holyto the LORD;it will not be pluckedup or overthrownanymoreforever."
"I will rejoiceoverthem to dothem goodand will faithfullyplantthem in thislandwith allMy heartand with allMy soul.
Ifyou will indeedstayin thisland,then I will buildyou up and not tearyou down,and I will plantyou and not uprootyou; for I will relentconcerningthe calamitythat I have inflictedon you.
and saidto Jeremiahthe prophet,"Pleaselet our petitioncomebeforeyou, and prayfor us to the LORDyour God,[that is] for allthisremnant;becausewe are left[but] a fewout of many,as your own eyes[now] seeus,
"Thusyou are to sayto him, 'Thussaysthe LORD,"Behold,whatI have builtI am about to teardown,and whatI have plantedI am about to uproot,that is, the wholeland."
Her gateshave sunkinto the ground,He has destroyedand brokenher bars.Her kingand her princesare among the nations;The lawis nomore.Also,her prophetsfindNovisionfrom the LORD.
"Sayto them, 'As I live!'declaresthe LordGOD,'I takenopleasurein the deathof the wicked,but ratherthat the wickedturnfrom his wayand live.Turnback,turnbackfrom your evilways!Whythen will you die,O houseof Israel?'
Thus My angerwill be spentand I will satisfyMy wrathon them, and I will be appeased;then they will knowthat I, the LORD,have spokenin My zealwhen I have spentMy wrathupon them.
"While I was contemplatingthe horns,behold,anotherhorn,a littleone,cameup amongthem, and threeof the firsthornswere pulledout by the rootsbeforeit; and behold,thishornpossessed eyeslike the eyesof a manand a mouthutteringgreat[boasts].
For thussaysthe LordGOD,"The citywhich goesfortha thousand[strong] Will havea hundredleft,And the one which goesfortha hundred[strong] Will havetenleftto the houseof Israel."
Whois a GodlikeYou, who pardonsiniquityAnd passesoverthe rebelliousactof the remnantof His possession?He does not retainHis angerforever,BecauseHe delightsin unchanginglove.
"The LORDyour Godis in your midst,A victoriouswarrior.He will exultoveryou with joy,He will be quietin His love,He will rejoiceoveryou with shoutsof joy.
But we hadto celebrateand rejoice,for thisbrotherof yourswas deadand [has begun] to live,and [was] lostand has been found.'"
"Then the LORDyour Godwill prosperyou abundantlyin allthe workof your hand,in the offspringof your bodyand in the offspringof your cattleand in the produceof your ground,for the LORDwill againrejoiceoveryou for good,justas He rejoicedoveryour fathers;
"The LORDwill scatteryou among the peoples,and you will be leftfewin numberamong the nationswherethe LORDdrivesyou.
"The LORDyour Godwill clearawaythesenationsbeforeyou littleby little;you will not be ableto putan endto them quickly,for the wildbeastswould growtoonumerousfor you.
