"But he who comesagainsthim will doas he pleases,and noonewill [be able to] withstandhim; he will also stay[for a time] in the BeautifulLand,with destructionin his hand.
Out of oneof them camefortha rather smallhornwhich grewexceedinglygreattowardthe south,towardthe east,and towardthe Beautiful[Land].
"He will also enterthe BeautifulLand,and many[countries] will fall;but thesewill be rescuedout of his hand:Edom,Moaband the foremostof the sonsof Ammon.
"Then the kingwill doas he pleases,and he will exaltand magnifyhimself aboveeverygodand will speakmonstrousthingsagainstthe Godof gods;and he will prosperuntilthe indignationis finished,for that which is decreedwill be done.
"And a mightykingwill arise,and he will rulewith greatauthorityand doas he pleases.
I sawhim comebesidethe ram,and he was enragedat him; and he struckthe ramand shatteredhis twohorns,and the ramhadnostrengthto withstandhim. So he hurledhim to the groundand trampledon him, and there was noneto rescuethe ramfrom his power.
I sawthe rambuttingwestward,northward,and southward,and no[other] beastscould standbeforehim norwas thereanyone to rescuefrom his power,but he didas he pleasedand magnified[himself].
"He will pitchthe tentsof his royalpavilionbetweenthe seasand the beautifulHolyMountain;yet he will cometo his end,and noonewill helphim.
"Then I said,'HowI would setyou among My sonsAnd giveyou a pleasantland,The mostbeautifulinheritanceof the nations!'And I said,'You shall callMe, My Father,And not turnawayfrom followingMe.'
"Then it will sweepon into Judah,it will overflowand passthrough,It will reachevento the neck;And the spreadof its wingswill fillthe breadthof your land,O Immanuel.
"Nomanwill [be able to] standbeforeyou allthe daysof your life.Justas I have beenwith Moses,I will be with you; I will not failyou or forsakeyou.
"Becauseof the grandeurwhichHe bestowedon him, allthe peoples,nationsand [men of every] languagefearedand trembledbeforehim; whomeverhe wishedhe killedand whomeverhe wishedhe sparedalive;and whomeverhe wishedhe elevatedand whomeverhe wishedhe humbled.
