"In that dayI will raiseup the fallenboothof David,And wallup its breaches;I will also raiseup its ruinsAnd rebuildit as in the daysof old;
"Have You not madea hedgeabouthim and his houseand allthat he has, on everyside?You have blessedthe workof his hands,and his possessionshave increasedin the land.
I rememberthe daysof old;I meditateon allYour doings;I museon the workof Your hands.
Whyhave You brokendownits hedges,So that allwho pass[that] waypickits [fruit]?
You have brokendownallhis walls;You have broughthis strongholdsto ruin.
A thronewill even be establishedin lovingkindness,And a judgewill siton it in faithfulnessin the tentof David;Moreover, he will seekjusticeAnd be promptin righteousness.
"So nowlet Me tellyou whatI am going to doto My vineyard:I will removeits hedgeand it will be consumed;I will breakdownits walland it will becometrampledground.
"Those from among you will rebuildthe ancientruins;You will raiseup the age-oldfoundations;And you will be calledthe repairerof the breach,The restorerof the streetsin which to dwell.
Then His peoplerememberedthe daysof old,of Moses.Whereis He who broughtthem up out of the seawith the shepherdsof His flock?Whereis He who putHis HolySpiritin the midstof them,
"I will bringforthoffspringfrom Jacob,And an heirof My mountainsfrom Judah;Even My chosenonesshall inheritit, And My servantswill dwellthere.
"Or at another momentI might speakconcerninga nationor concerninga kingdomto buildup or to plant[it];
But they shall servethe LORDtheir Godand Davidtheir king,whomI will raiseup for them.
"I shall givethem over to the powerof those who are seekingtheir lives,even into the handof Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonand into the handof his officers.Afterwards,however, it will be inhabitedas in the daysof old,"declaresthe LORD.
Restoreus to You, O LORD,that we may be restored;Renewour daysas of old,
"Allthe treesof the fieldwill knowthat I am the LORD;I bringdownthe hightree,exaltthe lowtree,dryup the greentreeand make the drytreeflourish.I am the LORD;I have spoken,and I will perform[it]."
I will multiplyon you manand beast;and they will increaseand be fruitful;and I will cause you to be inhabitedas you were formerlyand will treatyou betterthanat the first.Thus you will knowthat I am the LORD.
Afterwardthe sonsof Israelwill returnand seekthe LORDtheir Godand Davidtheir king;and they will cometremblingto the LORDand to His goodnessin the lastdays.
"But on MountZionthere will be those whoescape,And it will be holy.And the houseof Jacobwill possesstheir possessions.
"But as for you, BethlehemEphrathah,[Too] littleto be among the clansof Judah,From you One will goforthfor Me to be rulerin Israel.His goingsforthare from longago,From the daysof eternity."
[It will be] a dayfor buildingyour walls.On that daywill your boundarybe extended.
ShepherdYour peoplewith Your scepter,The flockof Your possessionWhich dwellsby itselfin the woodland,In the midstof a fruitfulfield.Let them feedin Bashanand GileadAs in the daysof old.
Do not rejoiceover me, O my enemy.ThoughI fallI will rise;ThoughI dwellin darkness,the LORDis a lightfor me.
"The LORDalso will savethe tentsof Judahfirst,sothat the gloryof the houseof Davidand the gloryof the inhabitantsof Jerusalemwill not be magnifiedaboveJudah.
Allthe landwill be changedinto a plainfrom Gebato Rimmonsouthof Jerusalem;but Jerusalem will riseand remainon its sitefrom Benjamin'sGateas faras the placeof the FirstGateto the CornerGate,and from the Towerof Hananelto the king'swinepresses.
"Then sayto him, 'Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,"Behold,a manwhose nameis Branch,for He will branchout from whereHe is; and He will buildthe templeof the LORD.
"Edomshall be a possession,Seir,its enemies,also will be a possession,While Israelperformsvaliantly.
