When they heardthis,they quieted downand glorifiedGod,saying,"Well then,Godhas grantedto the Gentilesalsothe repentance[that leads] to life."
For the sorrowthat is accordingto [the will] [of] Godproducesa repentancewithout regret,[leading] to salvation,but the sorrowof the worldproducesdeath.
solemnly testifyingto bothJewsand Greeksof repentancetowardGodand faithin our LordJesusChrist.
"Moreover, I will giveyou a newheartand puta newspiritwithinyou; and I will removethe heartof stonefrom your fleshand giveyou a heartof flesh.
"He is the one whom Godexaltedto His right handas a Princeand a Savior,to grantrepentanceto Israel,and forgivenessof sins.
But we all,with unveiledface,beholding as in a mirrorthe gloryof the Lord,are being transformedinto the sameimagefrom gloryto glory,justas from the Lord,the Spirit.
And when they heardit they [began] glorifyingGod;and they saidto him, "You see,brother,how manythousandsthere are amongthe Jewsof thosewho have believed,and they are allzealousfor the Law;
"For you first,Godraisedup His Servantand sentHim to blessyou by turningevery one[of you] from your wicked ways."
To grantthose who mourn[in] Zion,Givingthem a garlandinsteadof ashes,The oilof gladnessinsteadof mourning,The mantleof praiseinsteadof a spiritof fainting.So they will be calledoaksof righteousness,The plantingof the LORD,that He may be glorified.
And they were glorifyingGodbecauseof me.
Whatshall we saythen?That Gentiles,who did not pursuerighteousness,attainedrighteousness,eventhe righteousnesswhich is by faith;
Therefore,being sent on their wayby the church,they were passing throughbothPhoeniciaand Samaria,describing in detailthe conversionof the Gentiles,and were bringinggreatjoyto allthe brethren.
When they had arrivedand gatheredthe churchtogether,they [began] to reportall thingsthat Godhad donewith them and howHe had openeda doorof faithto the Gentiles.
Nowthe apostlesand the brethrenwho were throughoutJudeaheardthat the Gentilesalsohad receivedthe wordof God.
"Thereforerepentand return,sothat your sinsmay be wiped away,in orderthat timesof refreshingmay comefrom the presenceof the Lord;
"Then allyour people[will be] righteous;They will possessthe landforever,The branchof My planting,The workof My hands,That I may be glorified.
So when Phinehasthe priestand the leadersof the congregation,even the headsof the familiesof Israelwho[were] with him, heardthe wordswhichthe sonsof Reubenand the sonsof Gadand the sonsof Manassehspoke,it pleasedthem.
"I will pourout on the houseof Davidand on the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the Spiritof graceand of supplication,so that they will lookon Me whomthey have pierced;and they will mournfor Him, as one mournsfor an onlyson,and they will weepbitterlyoverHim like the bitterweepingovera firstborn.
Then in that dayThe nationswill resortto the rootof Jesse,Whowill standas a signalfor the peoples;And His restingplacewill be glorious.
"You shall divideit by lotfor an inheritanceamong yourselves and among the alienswho stayin your midst,whobringforthsonsin your midst.And they shall be to you as the native-bornamong the sonsof Israel;they shall be allottedan inheritancewith you amongthe tribesof Israel.
But when the crowdssaw[this], they were awestruck,and glorifiedGod,who had givensuchauthorityto men.
