He aroseand wentinto the house,and he pouredthe oilon his headand saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof Israel,I have anointedyou kingoverthe peopleof the LORD,[even] overIsrael.
"Let Zadokthe priestand Nathanthe prophetanointhim thereas kingoverIsrael,and blowthe trumpetand say,[Long] liveKingSolomon!'
"Blessedbe the LORDyour Godwhodelightedin you to setyou on the throneof Israel;because the LORDlovedIsraelforever,therefore He madeyou king,to dojusticeand righteousness."
"Go,sayto Jeroboam,'Thussaysthe LORDGodof Israel,"BecauseI exaltedyou from amongthe peopleand madeyou leaderoverMy peopleIsrael,
"Inasmuchas I exaltedyou from the dustand madeyou leaderoverMy peopleIsrael,and you have walkedin the wayof Jeroboamand have made My peopleIsraelsin,provokingMe to angerwith their sins,
and Jehuthe sonof Nimshiyou shall anointkingoverIsrael;and Elishathe sonof Shaphatof Abel-meholahyou shall anointas prophetin your place.
"Your servantis in the midstof Your peoplewhichYou have chosen,a greatpeoplewhoare toomanyto be numberedor counted.
"Then takethe flaskof oiland pourit on his headand say,'Thussaysthe LORD,"I have anointedyou kingoverIsrael."'Then openthe doorand fleeand do not wait."
When he came,behold,the captainsof the armywere sitting,and he said,"I have a wordfor you, O captain."And Jehusaid,"For which[one] of us?" And he said,"For you, O captain."
Now the destructionof Ahaziahwas from God,in that he wentto Joram.For when he came,he wentout with JehoramagainstJehuthe sonof Nimshi,whomthe LORDhad anointedto cutoffthe houseof Ahab.
"But as for Me, I have installedMy KingUpon Zion,My holymountain."
For not from the east,norfrom the west,Norfrom the desert[comes] exaltation;
Thussaysthe LORDto CyrusHis anointed,WhomI have takenby the righthand,To subduenationsbeforehim And to loosethe loinsof kings;To opendoorsbeforehim so that gateswill not be shut:
"It is He who changesthe timesand the epochs;He removeskingsand establisheskings;He giveswisdomto wisemenAnd knowledgeto men of understanding.
"This sentenceis by the decreeof the [angelic] watchersAnd the decisionis a commandof the holyones,In orderthat the livingmay knowThat the MostHighis rulerover the realmof mankind,And bestowsit on whomHe wishesAnd setsoverit the lowliestof men."
and you will be drivenawayfrom mankind,and your dwellingplace[will be] with the beastsof the field.You will be givengrassto eatlike cattle,and sevenperiods of timewill passoveryou untilyou recognizethat the MostHighis rulerover the realmof mankindand bestowsit on whomeverHe wishes.'
Then Samueltookthe flaskof oil,pouredit on his head,kissedhim and said,"Has not the LORDanointedyou a ruleroverHis inheritance?
"The LORDmakespoorand rich;He bringslow,He alsoexalts.
"He raisesthe poorfrom the dust,He liftsthe needyfrom the ashheapTo make them sitwith nobles,And inherita seatof honor;For the pillarsof the earthare the LORD'S,And He setthe worldon them.
