At that timeHananithe seercameto Asakingof Judahand saidto him, "Because you have reliedon the kingof Aramand have not reliedon the LORDyour God,thereforethe armyof the kingof Aramhas escapedout of your hand.
"[Let there be] a treatybetweenyou and me, [as] betweenmy fatherand your father.Behold,I have sentyou a presentof silverand gold;go,breakyour treatywith Baashakingof Israelso that he will withdrawfrom me."
Now the wordof the LORDcameto Jehuthe sonof HananiagainstBaasha,saying,
Moreover,the wordof the LORDthroughthe prophetJehuthe sonof HananialsocameagainstBaashaand his household,both becauseof allthe evilwhichhe didin the sightof the LORD,provokingHim to angerwith the workof his hands,in beinglike the houseof Jeroboam,and becausehe struckit.
He trustedin the LORD,the Godof Israel;so that afterhim there was nonelikehim among allthe kingsof Judah,nor[among those] whowere beforehim.
They were helpedagainstthem, and the Hagritesand allwho [were] with them were giveninto their hand;for they criedout to Godin the battle,and He answeredtheir prayersbecausethey trustedin Him.
Thus the sonsof Israelwere subduedat that time,and the sonsof Judahconqueredbecausethey trustedin the LORD,the Godof their fathers.
Then Asacalledto the LORDhis Godand said,"LORD,thereis noonebesidesYou to help[in the battle] betweenthe powerfuland those who havenostrength;so helpus, O LORDour God,for we trustin You, and in Your namehave comeagainstthismultitude.O LORD,You are our God;let not manprevailagainstYou."
Then KingAsabroughtallJudah,and they carriedaway the stonesof Ramahand its timberwith whichBaashahad been building,and with them he fortifiedGebaand Mizpah.
Jehuthe sonof Hananithe seerwentout to meethim and saidto KingJehoshaphat,"Should you helpthe wickedand lovethose who hatethe LORDand so[bring] wrathon yourself from the LORD?
He walkedin the wayof his fatherAsaand did not departfrom it, doingrightin the sightof the LORD.
Now the restof the actsof Jehoshaphat,firstto last,behold,they are writtenin the annalsof Jehuthe sonof Hanani,whichis recordedin the Bookof the Kingsof Israel.
Indeedthe armyof the Arameanscamewith a smallnumber of men;yet the LORDdelivereda verygreatarmyinto their hands,becausethey had forsakenthe LORD,the Godof their fathers.Thus they executedjudgmenton Joash.
Woeto those who godownto Egyptfor help[And] relyon horses,And trustin chariotsbecausethey are manyAnd in horsemenbecausethey are verystrong,But they do not lookto the HolyOneof Israel,norseekthe LORD!
Eachwill be like a refugefrom the windAnd a shelterfrom the storm,Like streamsof waterin a drycountry,Like the shadeof a hugerockin a parchedland.
Then Isaiahthe prophetcameto KingHezekiahand saidto him, "Whatdid thesemensay,and from wherehave they cometo you?" And Hezekiahsaid,"They have cometo me from a farcountry,from Babylon."
